So tonight was the HS football banquet.  One of my buddy's kids plays on the team, so he was there.  My buddy is a big piggie fan.

So he sees me, and I point across the room at him, and said, "We have something to discuss."

A little background on my buddy.  He's a salesman for a fishing lure company, and he is always wearing outdoor gear.  Since it was raining tonight, he was wearing a fishing jacket.

When he says, "Oh yeah, the Texas Bowl.  I'm SO excited to be playing Texas."

I said, "I can tell.  You're wearing a Longhorn jacket tonight."  (Jacket was burnt orange!)

He looks down at his jacket like he's seen a freaking ghost.  Says, "Oh shit!"

I couldn't help but laugh and said, "Is this some sort of foreshadowing?"

Didn't feel a bit sorry for him.

He said that I might find a plastic hog hat on my porch when I got home from Texas after the game.  Ha!

Is that some weird Ozark version of a flaming sack of dog shit?

They are indeed a passionate fan base. Some are just out there, though. I've had my vehicle keyed in Arkansas. Pretty sure it was because of the Bevo on the back window.

Cool job

He reps Norman Lures, Drift Creek Outdoors, Eagle Claw, and a few others.

He's a good guy.  We've had a really fun back/forth about Texas and Arky since I met him many moons ago.

Nice back and forth. Not a fan of Arkansas, but I went to college with a bunch of kids who were big razorback fans. They were always nice until it came to sports. Then they turned into hotheads who knew their teams were better than everyone else's and if they weren't, then watch out because they are one player away from turning into a title contender.

Great folks until the Razorback stuff get's going.  Then they can be as bad as aggy

I've lived in Arkansas for 15 years and have always had Bevo on my back window. I've never had a single issue, not one, with an Arkansas fan. I live in the northwest tip where OU, Mizzou and Hogs converge. I wear Longhorn gear a lot and rarely does anyone say anything. Maybe because I live in Walmartian territory and we are from all over the country, but I see quite a few vehicles with Bevo. Heck, there are probaby more Wisconsin fans where I am than Hog fans.

Bentonville is the PACNW of Arkansas; very few native Arkansans and a lot of folks that have relocated there due to their jobs with and/or supporting Walmart.
