Without Stadium Home, Bats Invade Texas A&M Buildings

http://www.texastribune.org/2015/05/02/during-stadium-renovation-homeless-bats-invade-m-b/

For years, university officials mostly just left the animals alone. They hung signs in the stadium warning fans that they were entering a â€œbat-friendly stadium.†And any stray dead bats were scooped up before games.

But there were reasons to get rid of the animals. Fans in the fall had to endure the pungent smell of guano during football games. The bat poop stained the walls and covered the ground. And there were health concerns, considering food is prepared and served in the stadium.

“They were defecating on the concession stands,†Lacher said.
See? aggie really is bat-shit crazy

So typical. The 2 main things that school represents, Agriculture and Mechanical, and yet they can't build a simple house for a bunch of bats so they will just let them die. Bravo, aggy.

There is no reason that A&M could not build those simple bat houses for the animals:  they have spent 100's of millions on that monstrosity of a stadium.  If you recall, it's the stadium that they have a difficult time filling.

What could the bat houses cost?  $40,000 or $50,000 total

I, for one, appreciate the bats.  They eat many times their weight in insects every night, including mosquitoes.

Aggie logic, and math, boggles the mind.

Actually, the A and M mean absolutely nothing. It's not an ag/mechanical school anymore. As someone mentioned in another thread recently, "the A&M stands for nothing."

No sheep left behind. Or something like that. I suffered through four semesters of Latin at an English boarding school as a kid.
LOL...that's classic

How about this one at the bottom of the Hat Creek Cattle Company's sign?

can't figure that one out. something about Living in a Variety of Grapes.

love that sign tho! We don't rent pigs!

You know, I have never watched Lonesome Dove. I keep wanting to dvr it but when I find it on I usually miss the first episode.

Most of the words in the quote translate individually but as a sentence it doesn't make sense. Well, to my circa 4th Form Latin class education it doesn't.
