Oh Aggy.

So the aggys apparently hired Dave Christensen as their offensive line coach. This is the guy that was suspended for a tirade after playing Air Force a couple years ago. It's a very weird hire by A&M if true. No Texas connections, he ran Wyoming into the ground, and had pretty average offensive lines at Missouri. I don't really understand it.

Pretty much what he's said the last 3 weeks.
I was about to say the exact same thing.

That fan base is so delusional that even Rumblin bumblin Sumlin knows all he has to do is give them a little "nugget" like that and they will go on for another 3 weeks talking about how clever their coach is and how he probably has a plan to steal Harbough in the last second from Michigan to be the DC.

IF TRUE, that would be a good hire for the Aggies. I met Dave Christensen while at Mizzou, class act.

The issue why I don't believe it is because he is the offensive coordinator at Utah. Granted, I believe he shares that with Dennis Erickson but still idk why he would take a demotion unless they are going to pay a heck of a lot more.

Based on what I've read, Christensen was a cancer at Utah. The players and coaches didn't get along with him. He had similar problems at Wyoming. It will be interesting how he gels with A&M's staff. There was wide consensus though on the Utah boards that they wanted Christensen gone. I never heard of him having any problems at Missouri but it's been known there were issues at Utah/Wyoming. I'm not sure how I feel about the hire, it's definitely an interesting move. I think there were options that were better fits.

So what your saying is he is a good fit for the Dysfunction Junction Boys.

It will be interesting to see how this hire works out for our "friends" in Collie Station.

Hook 'Em!

Something that's interesting about the aggys is their recruiting. The fact that they've had so much attrition has improved the perception of their recruiting (because they have to take more numbers than everyone else). This isn't to say the aggys haven't improved their recruiting, simply that perception is not always reality.

I actually don't care that much about the team rankings on 247, I tend to look at the player average. This is the better indicator of the quality players entering a program.

2015 average player rankings:

Ole Miss: 89.65

Alabama: 93.28

LSU: 90.05

Auburn: 89.79

A&M: 89.59

In 2013 A&M took 35 commits (what the hell), 2014 22 commits, 2015 they already have 23 commits. A&M's recruiting numbers have been what they are because of the number's game. At the end of the day SEC West teams like Ole Miss, Bama, Auburn, and LSU are still getting the higher quality recruits. It's gonna suck for the aggys because Ole Miss, Bama, Auburn and LSU are still out recruiting them. Schools like Arkansas and Miss. State are closing the gap too.

aggie is somewhat handicapped because they can't cheat as hard as their SEC West brethren.

Too many UT & Big12 alums in TX with eyeballs on them
