Oh Aggy.

I just posted something similar on another a site. Looking at that schedule, there's a real possibility they go 6-6 or 5-7 if they lose to ASU

No doubt ESPN will discuss the SEC ad nauseum, then their Champion will go down in the playoffs, quickly. I just can't wait until it is Texas taking them down. As Vince once said, "We'll be baaack!"

I think there is a lot of wishful thinking going on here.  I have my suspicions about aggy this year.  Even though they lost a ton of good players, they are still loaded with talent.

I said this on another site - that Sumlin is not a good coach.  But neither was Mack and UT overwhelmed teams with its better talent.

Aggy's OOC game schedule is pathetic and they should sweep them.  And, IMO, they will do better than most think, in the SEC West.  It would not surprise me to see them go 7-3 or even 8-2.

I too believe that aggy will be fairly decent. They'll win 9 or less and act like they invented football. For be foreseeable future this is what we are dealing with.

I have the over/under at 6 wins for aggy this year. They're picked to finish 6th outta 7 in the SEC West. Whoop!

Thing is the defense isn't loaded with talent. They have very little talent at LB or in the secondary. The defensive line has some talent but only one guy that's ever produced anything.

The offensive line has regressed every year as Sherman recruits have left the team. They just lost a first and fifth rounder on the offensive line, that's going to be much more difficult to replace than people think.

Sounds about right to me. Only team I think they are better than is Miss. State. They could finish 4th or 5th and it wouldn't surprise me.

Ags' OOC opponents: Arizona State, Ball State, Nevada and that noted college football stalwart,

the West Carolina Catamounts. Arizona State used to have a decent college football program; I

don't know what they have these days.

Yep. Mack was pretty darn successful at North Carolina before coming to Texas. 5 out of his last 6 years at North Carolina he finished in the top 25, with a couple top 10 finishes and 3 10 win seasons.

Sumlin's entire resume is more smoke than actual fire. Sumlin got the job at A&M because of really one successful year at Houston in 2011. Let's look at who Houston played that year.

UCLA-finished 6-8

North Texas-finished 5-7

LA Tech-finished 8-5

Georgia Tech-finished 3-8

UTEP- finished 5-7

East Carolina-finished 5-7

Marshall-finished 7-6

Rice-finished 4-8

UAB-finished 3-9

Tulane-finished 2-11

SMU-finished 8-5

Southern Miss-finished 12-2 (only decent team Sumlin played and they lost that game)

Penn State-finished 9-4

So the teams Sumlin played in 2011 had a 77-87 record.

Mack has 18 top 25 finishes, Sumlin 3. Mack has 8 top 10 finishes, Sumlin 1. Mack 3 BCS wins, Sumlin 0. Mack 1 national title, Sumlin 0. Mack 12 10 win seasons, Sumlin 3. Sumlin has a long way to go before he should be even mentioned in the same breath as Mack.
