Oh Aggy, Part Deux

I didn't watch all the aggy game but from what I saw, if the UCLA QB would have played better they would have been up big early vs aggy.

aggy is just being aggy caused Texas won a big game.

i watched some of the game.  there were 2 "drops" by ucla wr that would have either gone for a long td or big yardage.  in fact, one of those "drops" was an interception.

My youngest received a letter from the fake army trying to recruit her. I asked her if she was interested at all and she looked at me like I'd lost my mind. Proud dad moment there.
Our Son was considering a degree path that would have likely taken him to A&M.  I wasn't thrilled but was as supportive as I could be.  He went to Collie Station for a visit and stayed with one of his friends.  He came back and looked me square in the eyes and said, "Dad, I just can't do it.  Those people are nutts"  He now has a huge UT flag in his apartment in Dallas where he works :)

i saw mention on another site that there was a question why von miller happened to characterize agNm as the ugly girlfriend.  it turns out that in an interview he was asked why he went to c-station.

that reminded me of one of the great pleasures i have had because of my choice of college.  i've worked as a contract designer all over the country in major aircraft design situations with people from literally all over the world.  in all those years i never had one person ask me why i went to the university of texas.  not one.

"just can't do it"

"Now I see"
great stories, both.  thanks for sharing.

reminds me of years ago when i took my young daughter to her first longhorn game.  ags and us at dkr.

happens that next to us were two young longhorn ladies and just behind two young farmer guys.  the whole game the ags made fun of our players, our coaches, our school.  anything longhorn.  and they were really ugly about it.  some really nasty comments.

finally one of the young ladies had had enough and she turned and blasted the two ags after a particularly snotty comment.  i interrupted the proceedings before the ag could start his putrid response and asked the ladies to leave the ags be.  i told her that i had been trying to explain to my daughter what was wrong with a&m and that it was hard to paint the picture and not seem to be exaggerating.  these two ags were doing a spectacular job and i wanted them left alone.

you never saw two more polite young men your whole life than those ags the rest of that game, and the two young ladies exchanged pleasantries with my daughter and me before we all left that longhorn win.

"aggy is just being aggy caused Texas won a big game."

That is exactly correct. Though the game was a desperate battle, Texas managed to prevail and aggy

can't stand it. Texas won a big victory over a storied college football team in dramatic fashion; the tv

announcers bragged on Texas a lot and mentioned the record crowd and aggy simply can't stand it.

They can't help it; it's the inferiority complex they've always had and always will have.

lol.  Fellows just laugh.  No point getting your blood pressure up.  Just chuckle.

Aggy explanation for aggydom.

"From the outside you can't understand it. From the inside you can't explain it."

That's their own explanation for their goofy world. And it happens to be very accurate.

Ok, the whole country is a buzz about the game, Texas and various aspects of the game.

Nobody is really talking about aggy beating the Uclans.

So what you witnessed in the aggy post is just the normal, aggy knee-jerk response of complete and utter denial of the painfully obvious. They will repeat this to each other, back and forth, until it becomes more comfortable to say it in a public setting.

Rinse, repeat. It's aggy. This is what we're embarrassed by, but also so entertained by at the same time. lol It would be a whole lot easier if it was Louisiana A&M.

Going into 4th (?) season in the sec...

agNm beat a ranked team at home in OT...

But...

In the following week's rankings is

behind UH, Texas, TCU, Baylor in the Coach's Poll.

behind UH, Texas, TCU, in AP Poll

agNm won a game in OT in front of the largest crowd to see a football game in the State of Texas...

But...

Texas beat #10 Ranked ND the following night in what is billed as a record nationally viewed game!

And..

All day Tue and Wed, in all Sports on ESPN and Fox... the Texas game is the top talk of any game played in the State of Texas, matched only by the win of Houston over Oklahoma.

For the past 48 hours, the Texas win and the matchup with ND, has been one of the most talked about and "pictured" on the sports cable news shows, almost non-stop alongside the Alabama win, and the implications of the LSU loss at Wisconsin, and the big game Monday night of Fl State overcoming a slow start against Ole Miss.

agNm has been left out of ALL the conversation. Period. Na-Dah.

So after 3 seasons, and into a 4th, in the sec... agNm is no more on the map than they were four years ago.

Oh, another note... Kenny Hill who left agNm to play at TCU was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the Big 12, alongside senior backup stellar QB Tyronne Swoopes of TEXAS!  No mention of the Sr transfer from OU who had to help the agroids win at Collie Station.

Also... college football news leading up to the big weekend games showed a chart of UH recruiting in the Houston area. It is massive. It means agNm will continue to lose ground there. Their QB transfer issues and other off-the-field issues, and now The Longhorns off to a good start, and three In-State programs ranked above agNm --  even with an agroid win against a ranked team...

.. .is why agNm is NOT the marque program in the State of Texas.

Friends.. not even close. Not even.

Overall, it was TEXAS and the Texas game, that was the talk of sports following the opening weekend, in the State and Nationally (along with the Alabama showing). If you saw a picture of four players on screen, three uniforms likely of Alabama, UH, Fl State... and Texas.  I don't think "A&M" was mentioned but once.

One more thing to add... Now that the sec played some competitive games instead of 'one of their 4 annual cupcakes'... the conference was also the talk of national sports dialog, referring to their lowest of major conferences 0.500 percentage going 7-7 the opening weekend.

agNm has moved over to a conference that still bats .500 in bowl season when playing outside their conference, and apparently not any better when playing outside their conference in a regular season weekend when playing a mix of competitive games.

There is no brand improvement in agNm. Only in their dreams.

It's the 5th season for aggy in the SEC. 2012 was their first.

Don't you co-branded merchandise, bro? (When did UNC join the SEC?)
