We will update things we hear in this post all weekend so be sure to check in.

I actually heard this a couple of days ago but Texas got a silent commit this week.  It won't be announced for a bit, but we confirmed with multiple sources and the recruit himself that it happened.

Reports are out via Orangebloods that Marcel Southall and Isaiah Chambers might be in town this weekend.  Strong and the staff are putting together a hell of a PR effort right now on twitter.  Most guys are en route or just checking in but we will see how things are going and come back here to update.

==================

Update Sunday Night:

We will have full predictions out in Burnt Ends but I've got some odds and ends here from the end of the visit weekend.

Tope Imade - We spoke to Tope this evening and asked him for some thoughts on the weekend.  He said that everything was perfect and he'd rate the visit a 10 on a scale of 1-10.

Favorite part of the visit: "Hanging out with Coach Strong and Tyrone Swoopes.  They were the most genuine guys i've ever been around".

Imade did lots of recruiting on this trip including a ton of time with newest Texas commit Zach Shackelford.  He was hosted by former high school teammate Edwin Freeman and mentioned that he really enjoyed hanging out with Patrick Vahe.  Imade feels Vahe and Connor Williams will be incredible mentors for him in the future.

==================

Davion Curtis - We spoke with one of his family members who described how the visit went down.  According to our source, Curtis stuck closely with new Texas offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert.  Gilbert of course used to coach at Temple and Curtis still runs the same offense Texas will install.  Gilbert and Curtis went over hand signals, audibles, and play terminology to determine if it was still the same.  Gilbert also told Curtis if he hadn't been offered when Gilbert was hired he would have been the first target.  Both Curtis and Gilbert also pulled Reggie Hemphill in to learn the offense.  Reggie was very excited about the role he could play going forward.

General Notes from Sources:

All players went through academic sessions to make sure there were no eligibility issues.

Stephon Taylor really enjoyed his visit.  The staff really blew away the parents and showed them a lot of love.

Lil'Jordan Humphrey was told he'd be used all over the formation.  He could be flexed out at tight end or on the outside in the red zone.

One player said the whole weekend felt like a big family reunion and he couldn't remember a better time.

There are some really positive vibes on Chris Daniels right now.  I don't know how far it will go, but several people mentioned to me that they could see him flipping.

* Brandon Jones and Deontay Anderson hung out with Dylan Haines and watched a ton of film.  Both players were getting a pitch on how they could immediately play.

Gilbert and Mattox told all of the recruits that all spots on offense were a clean slate going into the spring.  The players also spoke with Greg Fenves who affirmed his support for Charlie Strong.  It all went a long way to help any stability questions many of the recruits had.

Did some checking around and the guys are having an amazing time.  What a great coordinated effort by Charlie Strong and his crew to create excitement for this weekend.

1. This week the Texas program put out this video highlighting the accomplishments of Charlie Strong's inaugural recruiting class.  It lit the fuse and got the recruits incoming very excited about the visit weekend.  That primed everyone before Texas unleashed a social media campaign we didn't know they had in their deck.

2. The social media campaign has been building over the last few weeks with several of the current players vocally recruiting on twitter for the Longhorns.  Today they kicked it up a notch by introducing everyone to the hashtag #Believe.

3. Texas strategically planned this weekend with these big names in an effort to create an exciting environment and get the ball rolling.  They even added the spice of two mystery recruits when Marcel Southall and Isaiah Chambers made it in.  It was a gamble to wait this long but it was extremely calculated.  Texas knew they'd get one shot to get their big targets on campus and fire all the cannons.  It's what you have to do coming off of a 5-7 season, but the Texas staff is recruiting in a way we haven't seen.

So with all that said I'll tell you a couple of things I'm hearing.

1. Texas got a silent commit today.  It may not be announced for a bit but he's in the bag.

2. Reggie Hemphill tweeted that another was committed and I've spoken to one source who indicated a name that would be a gigantic win for Texas.  I'm still working on more confirmation here.

3. There's some thought we could see a tidal wave of momentum from this weekend and if so we will look back at this as the moment that cemented a pretty stellar 2016 class.  It's early and the excitement is flowing, but my phone is lighting up in a way it hasn't since the day Malik committed.  It's times like these that make this job really fun.  Stay tuned...

Gigantic win? Does that mean we can add that to our record this year 6-7.... I kid

Im excited to find out who he is and am also happy to see what Coach Strong can build off of this.

If that video doesnt convince a recruit that we have a solid foundation and offer the chance to play early then nothing will. That video was awesome.

Beautiful news. Sounds like our football team next year is ready to go and waiting on ONE position... QUARTERBACK.

And I believe that between the 5 on campus next year that 1 of em is indeed the answer. But only Lord knows which one that truly is...

Morning Update: Did some checking around and had a 3rd source confirm the big commitment I referenced last night. I don't know when it will be announced but the guys on campus know about it.

To reference SHA's post I heard a wild rumor this morning about a 3rd guy, but I'm going to need a lot more confirmation before I run with it. I'll be chasing stuff all day.

Mr.Roach I have to say Strong and his staff bought there A game this weekend for the PR work they have done and they mean business. Don't work too hard today.

Shackelford pinned the tweet of his in home visit with Strong and Mattox.

Seems like a pretty good sign of what's about to happen.

Yeah we had him in the preview because we heard he was coming.  Will be interesting to see if he makes it.
It would be nice to get him on campus again.

I think the only problem right now is he has to take an unofficial visit.

If i had to take a guess who the big commitment is I'd say B.Jones but we'll just have to wait and find out
