The problem here on OL is that all of those prospects could use a redshirt to add some weight. Don't have much on DL recruiting, other than Texas cannot afford to have only 1 DL commit. And that commit is not 'solid' as of now
290 and 297 is plenty of weight. Maybe "add muscle" but I've seen time and time again string bean OT's like Greg Little come in and dominate in college from day one. What matters is technique, technique, technique.

Yes, technique is huge. But you have to have the weight, otherwise you are going to get bullied up front. Have to be strong/physical enough to hold your own. 290 for an OT is not going to cut it

Is this a LOI or something else based on the potential mission trip?
I am not sure if it was a financial aid agreement or LOI. There will probably be more clarity on a potential mission trip soon. That is a question Tom Herman may get asked during his signing day press conference.

I respectfully disagree.  It can happen but OL is about the least likely position for a TF to step in and excel.  I believe we must get away from counting on TF on the 2 deep for OL.  This is why the misses in the JUCO ranks hurts.

Not much else going on right now. The only other commit that could sign early, Ayodele Adeoye, is reportedly announcing his decision at 7:00 p.m. He is down to Texas, OU, and Illinois. Anthony Cook announces his decision at 3:00 on ESPNU. We like Texas' chances.

Texas needs to hire a 10th assistant that can effectively recruit the lines. It sucks to hear, but they simply aren't getting it done. Winning football games starts up front.
Literally!  Games are won and lost in the trenches...  If that wasn't obvious in 2017 I can't help ya.

Although, "If Warehime lands Angilau, Ghirmai, Moore, Grandy and a decent grad transfer would you consider that an average recruiting job by Warehime" ?

No...

Question

Where does Overshown play on D?

Rover? Safety? Near the line, like Hall did this year?

He has the speed and athleticism to play Safety, but may grow into OLB as he adds weight. All I know is the dude is the hardest hitter in the state and there is a place for him on any defense in the country

I like him as a possible Rover guy.

Also could Woodard play some slot? His film is mostly of him running verticals, but he is similar size as RHM. Don't know how quick he is, since I haven't seen him on person.

The LHN crew commented on how the coaches pointed out that Woodard is still growing. He may end up around 6’2, which would make him bigger then RHM. While Eagles is definitely going to be an outside receiver, I think Woodard is a guy they will he able to move around. If it weren’t for shaky QB play for Lamar this year, he could have put up monster numbers.

Any names being thrown around on who might be the 10th assistant? I agree that a very strong recruiter is a must.

Great class so far but can someone explain why THE University cant pull a OL recruit away from Kansas?  K-A-N-S-A-SSSSSSS

I dont understand why some of you are pretending these freshmen OL can contribute year 1.  Most OL need atleast one year minimum, a red shirt year.  If we are playing true freshmen OL next year we are in trouble.  See Kerstetter for more.  Pat Hudson was a 5 star, and wasnt ready his first year.  The biggest loss here is the JUCO's OL.  Hopefully we get Grandy.

Warehimme's class has some good freshmen but the biggest factor next year was the JUCO's or absence of.

I've been following recruiting closely for 13 plus years now and I have to say this by far is this most uninterested signing day to date.

Year after year this is an exciting time and UT is a top program in recruiting. I get it you have to have a strong pipeline.

But this year I'll take the 40th ranked recruiting class for a top 10 finish and a new years day game.
