According to ESPN.com, Notre Dame has announced that it is moving all of their sports, except football and ice hockey to the ACC. Notre Dame also announced that they will be playing 5 ACC teams each year in football?

Also, the ACC has announced that it has increased its exit fees to 3 times the annual operational budget which currently comes to more than $50 million.

This leaves Big 12 in abit of a lurch. Exit fees to leave the ACC have increased. Time to get out while the gettin' is good for FSU and Louisville. Clemson ain't moving! Damn Irish!

Here are the details:

*ND will play 5 ACC football games every year against ACC teams

*ND still needs to exit Big East

*This is a HUGE move for Irish basketball

*Exit fees in the ACC have been increased to 3 times its annual operating budget (totalling more than 50 million)

This is a big move in the ever-changing landscape of college football.

We interviewed the guys over at NDNation.com in June and they maintained the ACC would always be a better fit for Notre Dame because of academics. It is ridiculous why they do not join as full members. They are playing 5 freaking ACC football teams every year now. All so they can still claim "Independence."
