Mack Brown's weekly press conference just concluded and he certainly didn't wear the look of a man that would not be on the 40 in 2014. There was no hint at retirement from what I heard. Well, that means we move to next Sunday or next Monday. Does Mack make the much anticipated retirement speech, or does he talk about the upcoming bowl game? If this drags out until late December, I can't see Mack Brown not as the coach in 2014. What say you HS nation?

I think he will announce his retirement when UT has things locked down with the next coach. That could be as soon as 15 days, at the banquet, after the bowl, after Baylor, etc. Multiple times it could happen

This makes sense no doubt

I'm really starting to believe that Mack comes back.

Look, Mack said a week ago that he would sit down and discuss his future with Patterson AFTER the season. Nothing has changed. No way was he going to cause a distraction to the team before playing for at least a share of the conference title.

I think Patterson gives him another year as it would probably give us a better chance at Fisher and Saban.

i dont think anything has changed. at least some say no (JS) He wasnt expected to step down today. There is nothing whatsoever about Mack coming back for one final season that makes sense on any level, so will believe it when I see it. I think Texas is too far down the tracks at this point.

I never believed that Mack would announce his retirement before the season ended, especially before the Baylor game. That would have been too big of a distraction before a game could possible get us into a BCS bowl. If he makes an announcement, it will probably be after the bowl game, and probably when he knows who the coach will be, so that the transition is seamless.

Talk only goes so far. For every you who tells me hes gone, I can find someone who tells me he stays. I dont discount either, I just want it done, one way or another.
