I really like that move for the Texans, depending on what they give up. Mallett has a ton of potential and has no doubt benefited from his time under Brady. This could be a really good move for Houston and would only add to that comfort zone of being at Pick 1.

The Texans new QB coach coached Mallet at NE, I think.

I guess this means they think he is ready to step up. If nothing else, dude has a cannon arm.

Mallet has one year left on his contract, so the implication is that they will probably have negotiated a new deal prior to the trade.

All of which is not supposed to have anything at all to do with the No. 1 overall pick.
