Next years roster. Feel free to disagree.

3 starters will be Mayes, Clemens and Hollingsworth. Clemens drastically improved as the season went along, it's just a matter of health with him. I guess there's a chance Hollingsworth goes pro, but I would say that's highly unlikely at this point due to his injury. Depending on his health I could see Cooper becoming a starter.

Midweek starter: Sawyer. Think he has the stuff just hasn't figured out how to find the strike zone consistently yet. I think he's best utilized as a starter so I would guess he stays in the midweek role.

Bullpen: Culbreth, Malmin, Duke, Schimpf, Johnston, McGuire, Mckenzie, Cooper and Robinson. Maybe Duke is gone, but I would lean towards him returning. Not sure what's up with Goins, but don't think he's a guy who is going to see much time regardless.

C: Barrera/Cantu
1B: Barrera/Cantu
2B: Joe Baker
SS: Hinojosa
3B: Boswell
CF: Gurwitz
RF: No clue really, my guess is someone like Mathis
LF: No clue really, maybe Taylor Stell or a FR.

I didn't include Johnson because I think he's most likely gone, but who knows. Hinojosa could also bolt, but I would lean towards him returning.

Our pitching staff is going to be absolutely loaded next year. That list above doesn't even include some of the FR arms we are be bringing in (and we have some elite arms coming in IMO). It will be interesting what we do in the outfield if Johnson is gone. I didn't realize how relatively young we were until I looked at the roster.

that just looks like another run with the same ol, same ol to me.

we need some hitters.

getting cooper back will be  good, but that's somewhat iffy with the arm and we lose french so that's a wash in my book.

Saw that Man Child this past weekend...

Til those so called great recruits enroll and attend classes, the highly ranked recruiting class in baseball a school signs doesn't mean squat. The MLB draft can rip a class up, and send coaches scrambling to fill voids.

We always have a good crop of pitchers. Our problem has been at the plate, and will continue to be until we change our philosophy and approach to the game. I would prefer to have a USC or LSU approach. Hammer the ball and score a lot of runs to take pressure off our pitching staff, and put the pressure on the opponents arms. If we had that the last several years, with our pitching, we would have more than six dog piles and counting right now, and would have won last year and be the defending champion instead of Vandy.

perfect way for you to finish your 2015 baseball commentary citing USC. They just made their first regional in 10 years, haven't been to Omaha in 15. But yes in the regional final they did indeed score 10. And lost by 4.
Hang in there Casey, 2016 will be here before you know it and you can swing again.

If they had pitching USC would have kicked butt. You don't follow what I am saying Street. I also mentioned LSU...they have been to Omaha often lately and won it quite a few....may well win it this year....We HAVE pitching. If we had USC's or LSU's style of offense to go with it, we would be unstoppable....Had we scored 10 in our game against DBU what would the score have been ?

No I follow. You want really good pitching and really good hitting. Makes sense. Seems like they'd have considered that.

This fall I want a really good offense and a really good defense. Throw in really good special teams and we could go places. I think I'll call C Strong.

Maybe we should get a petition going Street.  I'll sign it.

You would think so Street, but all we see the last few years is crappy plate appearances week after week.

Charlie is changing the offense, and has hired a new special teams coach......You don't need to call him. He is making changes so we CAN go places. You might call Augie though......

No, that is the problem... The Coaching staff did not have pitching.. Clemens was lost, Hollingsworth was lost, Goins was hurt before the season began, Cooper was lost last summer.. Then they had to replace Peters, Thornhill and Schiraldi...That's 7 arms that they had to replace...

Saw that Man Child this past weekend...

Despite the message communicated by that shirt, he signed with TCU.

He will probably be a high pick (draft is next week), but he says he sent out letters to all teams saying he wants to play college.

Not like we need another bat anyways.

That oak ridge team does have a Texas recruit on it,I believe he is a pitcher. Now this is what I have been told, can someone confirm that? Hook Em

Just went through the roster..There are currenly no Commits from Oak Ridge.. Prospect.. might be a different story.. Do You have a name?

This team was in trouble well before our pitching woes surfaced this year. Every team loses pitching and has to replace it. Even with our pitching problems, we were good enough to win had we just had some help at the plate.

I think OSU had to rebuild this year, and was much much younger than us. hmmmmm I think they finished their regular season...what?.....2nd in the Pac 12....and how did we end up in the Big 12 regular season ? Big 12 had 3 teams in regionals while the Pac 12 had 6 or so......You can sugar coat all you want. You can rag on me all you want... There is something very wrong with the Texas baseball program, and if you don't see that...well....SMH...and if Augie refuses or can't fix it he needs to go. I don't care how many championships he has won 10 plus years ago. This is now, and now Texas is terrible at scoring runs.
