The wording is a bit strange, so its unknown if its an "official" offer, but Ennis S Jah'Shawn Johnson, a Texas Tech commit, will be in town this weekend on an official visit.

Kid is a bit undersized (5-9/170) but is fast (4.4-4.5 range) and hits like a truck. Exactly the kind of under the radar guy places like TT and KSU used to get and whip us with.

I saw him play in week 3. I didn't know anything about him before the game. I knew him well when I left. Your description fits what I would have to say about him. Kid has jets.

We had some guy come through here 5-7 years ago that had these same traits. Probably a little less speed but better coverage abilities. I hear that he's doing just fine right now.

Might Mouse?

I watched 3 Ennis games last season. I think the kid is a player! Plays like his father the Italy Gladiator legend and former Dallas Cowboys safety and special teams great Keith Davis. Maybe I am a little over excited but Ellis county doesn't have many kids that UT looks at for football. He also plans to run track. If he gets a offer that will make a Ennis kid in the 2014 and 2015 class with a UT offer. Bwub60 you are right about Coach Alvarez. Ennis went through some tough years after Sam Harrell had to stop coaching due to MS. Even though I left Ellis county as soon as I could to join the military, when I was hurt I came back. Ennis and the rest of the county had many fund raisers to help Coach Harrell with stem cell replacement, one of the few good things about coming from small towns. The last I heard Coach Harrell is living a good life, coaching QB's at another high school and they made a great hire with Coach Alvarez. If anyone on here has heard that Coach Harrell's health has declined, please don't post it. I like to have the thought of him having a good life. He did a lot of great things for the town of Ennis and the school district.

Love hearing this.

Nothing like a 3* with something to prove because they actually have the talent.

Here is his recruiting video:

My only negative for the kid would be that he doesn't take the best paths to the ball carrier. He free style rushes and it can leave him in some vulnerable positions when the ball carrier gets to him. In High School he can get away with that but when he gets to the College Level, he'll need to straighten it out or running backs will make a fool out of him. With that said, he's got some serious pop and plays with some aggression for his size. Looks like he's probably the leader on that defense. He's got a great burst and mans up in his tackles rather than finding a cheap low hit. I like the kid.
