New commit

Duke your analysis on page one was solid and for the most part I agree with you. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but maybe people that don't like watching the tape can get a better analysis of a player through me (an outsider) rather than the natural sunshine pumping that follows any commit. I don't expect any of you to be disappointed when ya'll get a commitment, but my posts are just an idea on where I think the prospect fits in the grand scheme of things. Strong obviously has a plan that ya'll believe in I am just giving my take on how I don't think players like this will be the key to turning your program back into a 10+ win program every year as most expect. Regardless, it'll be a fun 2015 class to evaluate guy and gals and congrats to both parties on Charles Omenihu joining the 40 Acres. Keep this thread updated when camps come up and new film is posted and we can see how he progresses.

I am reasonable, I question the evals of guys in recruiting. You will see me on recruiting threads quite a bit because I enjoy following it and feel like my evals are solid and aren't biased like most sites. I plan on releasing a state top 100 sometime in the spring. If any of the mods have a problem with my negatives on a player please let me know and I will stop posting them. BTW, everybody loves it when I heap any praise on Buck Majors and Ed Freeman, but can't handle it when I think poorly of another prospect.
Positives: Uses length well; Smart player-always has eyes towards the ball, decent gap read; Size- looks like a bigger Derrick Roberson; Hints of athleticism-jumping towards ballcarrier, violent hits?

Negatives: Slow and lumbering; Strength is lacking; Lean and vertical leverage (plays high); Hand placement and block shedding; Little to no explosion off the ball.

Basically, looks like Tarzan plays like Jane.

Grade: Mid 3-star, bottom end top 10 DE in state on average years (prob. top 5 this year thus far)
LMAO!!!!!! Can y'all get this joke off of here. Please. His own top 100?

This is the type of guy who never played a down of football in his life yet he evaluates talent. Do your people a favor and evaluate character in your recruits and coaching staff. The ganja and pills are getting out of hand. Tell Sumlin to stop smoking it as well. He's not fooling anyone. His eyes give it away. LMAO!!!!

If you are referring to me, you would be mistaken. I'm an ORANGEBLOODS and IT member and I know some of the mods here from those forums are just as bothered by the ags presence as I am.
It's just a matter of time...

My 2 cents worth on this issue is that the choice to allow frequent poster aggy types to remain is not about loyalty, or fairness, or open mindedness, or free speech, or leadership, or example-setting, or any of that.

Rather, it is purely a business decision.

Think about it --

These aggies foster discussion, increase page hits, grow traffic and help to lengthen the amount of time Horn posters stay here.

And they are doing it with a keen sense for timing -- after football season and before Spring ball.

Seen thusly, aggies offer an assist in growing a Horn website business. In short, they are a tool. Or tools if you prefer.

It would not be overly shocking to learn they receive more than simple encouragement to remain.

On the tangent topic of this thread, I have no problems with A&M fans (or fans from other schools) posting defendable opinions in an adult fashion. That's better in my mind than the knee jerk reaction of stay off "our" board if your opinion is negative. To me, it makes it more interesting to read a non UT homer opinion.

As to the main subject matter of this thread. I have no issue/knowledge of the guy, just hope he matures and develops into a strong player. I want to see our coaches be more successful projecting a kid's future ability than assuming a kid that is highly successful in a Texas high school ought to perform at a major D1 school. My opinion is some of our Texas schools prepare and develop its football players to reach much of their potential in high school. There aren't many high schools outside of Texas with the training facilities, funding and commitment of many Texas high school football teams. I suspect that in the past 6 years or so, the UT coaches got lazy and offered alot of kids that looked great in high school but could not develop enough to be great college players. Most of their talent was realized in high school. Our lack of UT players heading to the pros indicate this.

If my theory is correct, I'm hoping these coaches bring more analysis into their evaluation and go well beyond some recruiting star classification.

BTW, 247 Sports stated "The 6-foot-5-inch, 220-pound defensive end has also received an offer from Northwestern along with interested from Alabama, Baylor, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, California and TCU. (Whatever "interest" means.)
