New coaching staff

My Choices
OC -- Herman

RB -- Porter

WR -- Wyatt

OL -- Sherman

TE -- Brewster

DC -- Bedford

DE -- Giles

DT -- Orgeron

LB -- BJM

DB -- Akina

ST -- Zook

S&C -- Moorer

Looks about right to me... That would be a recruiting MONSTER!
THIS :) Is it August yet?

I too am thrilled with mad dog getting the axe. He must have had pics of Mack in a compromising position with a chicken to have held on to this job for as long as he did

Don't believe you can have that many coaches. Our OC also coached QBs and our DC coached LBs. However, we did have a DE coach and a DT coach. I also think we didn't have a dedicated ST coach. Does anyone know the number?

Nice list but NCAA might call you to say there is a limit on coaches u can have on staff.

Really hope searels gets replaced. From my time with the team and watching him, I was not impressed. Hoping Akina does stay though, think he's a good one to have around.

Lotus said Brick Haley's name has been brought up too.
I like Brick Haley. Those LSU DLs have been nasty good. But I bet they go get Orgeron if there's an opening and I don't want him at LSU.

The issue with Haley is that if we get him there's a good chance that LSU hires Orgeron and I'd rather not see him there. They are already tough enough to recruit against as it is.

Not sure about Lashlee. That's a huge leap of faith to go with a guy who's never called plays. But taking chances separates the winners from the losers.

McPhaul posted this last week:
"We also learned that Arthur Johnson (Head of Football Operations) is being retained. Keep in mind that Johnson is the guy that replaced Cleve Bryant and may be serving as a advisor to Steve Patterson as he navigates process and procedure at Bellmont. Patterson may be leaning on Johnson to help as a map reader. Keeping Johnson makes sense because the new Head Coach at Texas is going to need someone that is a map reader and can show the new Coach the ropes. I hear nothing but good things about Johnson so keeping him around stands to reason. The new coach may eventually bring on his own Head of Football Operations and Johnson move to another position within the AD serving Patterson. The bottom line is that we are going to make the transition for the Head Coach as smooth as possible."
I'm really glad to hear that. Contrary to many in the Athletic Program, Authur Johnson is much more than dead weight. I can understand Strong wanting to bring his own director of football operation with him, but I would certainly like to see Johnson's talents being used. Sounds like it will be.

UPDATE from our FB Page:

Bennie Wylie and what is believed the be the rest of the S&C coaches were released early this morning after a meeting with Coach Strong. The remainder of the coaching staff did meet with Coach Strong later this morning, but no indications were given as to their job status. As Strong would likely need to have his staff in place no later than Friday, today and tomorrow will be the day folks are shown the door (Whisenant)

Another tweet from BeingReal:

Sources: Strong in no hurry to assemble Offensive Staff. "Defensive wins Championships" and "Needs most immediate attention"
