ND vs Texas cannot come soon enough!

The temperatures in Austin for early September had me concerned for the Irish keeping up with the heat tolerant/acclimated Longhorns.  I figured that the climate would be good for about 10 pts for the 'Horns.

With the night game, the slight advantage from the climate that would be giving the 'Horns a few points has been nullified.  

I cannot wait to go to this game in September.  It will be cool to see blue and gold all over 6th street.  The dominating offensive line that treated the UT defensive line like children last year is not there this year.   ND lost some playmakers on defense as well - so those plays where ND had 4 linesman chasing Heard and Swoopes before the handoff to J Grey will not be as frequent.  I'm not expecting a complete beatdown like last year.

The big question mark is does Swoopes start?

No he won't start but you will still see a heavy dose of 18 wheeler in the end zone.

My prediction is Buechele and Texas will win this year. It will still be humid in the evening in September and I believe we will be in better shape in the fourth quarter.

Bad example. No matter the heat could not overcome this guy and his defensive hire as was proven later in Arizona.

A solid win against UT, with a Stanford win and the season ender against USC (who has the most talent in the nation, no comparison) should have the Irish in prime shape for the playoffs.

It's a must win. Best case scenario is Swoopes starts due to everyone drinking the cool-aid about the "maturity" talk. Swoopes has not seen a game of this magnitude at any time during his college career - and, well, he does what Swoopes does until proven otherwise in my book. The whole world will be watching this one

I am more nervous about the UT freshman getting the nod. He looks like a real QB from the spring game. The last thing the Irish need is a competent QB on the UT side that can throw a football accurately.

Swoopes saw last years matchup vs ND, same magnitude in my mind. He didn't show up and play, of course our OC didn't show up either.

LOL, I just noticed this part. Night game doesn't mean the same thing in Austin, Texas in September as it would in South Bend.

You'll have a game time temperature of about 94-95 with a humidity of at least 60%.

Conditioning will be a big factor in this game. Combine that heat with the Texas up-tempo, you're better bring some depth.

When Santa Anna decided to come and secure Texas, he formed his army with regiments from all states of Mexico. Then they marched north to Texas. When they came to the Rio Grande, they camped.
