I agree with a few of you on Mack. I would have been thrilled if he singed with us but there was that lingering feeling that he's possibly the biggest "me first" guy I've ever seen. Could be as disruptive to a team as he was HS offenses. That aside, does anyone know what it was that happened to sway him to the Rubes? According to a few in the know he was pretty solid Texas up until Monday when he schitzophrenically jumped ship.

Enough can't be said about the job this coaching staff did to pull in the class it did coming off a 6-7 season. CFS flipped almost a dozen recruits to us. We added quality across the board. Sure, there were some misses, but CFS knocked it out of the park for the most part and added not just quality athleticism, but tremendous leadership and players who will guide this program back to the top. CFS's 5 core values are great and everything, but unless the very best players on the team are pushing it, it doesn't work. CFS and his staff went out and got the kind of players that will embrace and enforce the values on their teammates. There were a few last year (Diggs, Reed, Edmond, to name a few) who were all-in. This class, based on what's been reported and just seeing their tweets will take that leadership to a whole new level. Hook 'Em and #letsride.

Graduate transfer(s) or JUCO? Or, maybe fewer players are transferring out than expected. We still have to meet the 85 total.

It wasn't just about saving a scholarship with Merrick. He's a very raw player with only a couple of years of football - the thought is that by delaying his enrollment until next Jan they can get him another 12 months of private work with Murray before bringing him on campus and starting his clock. Kid needs all the practice/coaching he can get - but is a big time talent.

Braxton Miller likely can't even throw until this summer - I wouldn't count on much from him even if he did make it to Texas.
