Here is an article on Kyler Murray's baseball promise --

http://usatodayhss.com/2015/texas-ams-biggest-threat-to-landing-kyler-murray-was-never-texas-its-baseball

“He has a chance to go in the first round (of the Major League Baseball entry draft) this spring,†MLB.com and MLB Network’s Jim Callis told USA TODAY High School Sports. “He’s the X factor of this year’s draft. He can really run, put the bat on the ball, but there’s still some mystery about him. I don’t think he’s played as much shortstop for his high school team, and scouts haven’t figured out why that is. Usually the best athlete with the best arm plays shortstop. But that won’t matter if he has a great spring and shows he can play shortstop and shows a willingness to sign. He could be a first-round pick.

“He could be the best athlete in the draft overall. I think he’s on the short list right now. He’s a guy who people definitely want to see because of the speed and because his bat looks really promising. If he’s not up the middle at short stop he’s probably a second baseman.â€

I am a long time Astros fan (y'all should send me some type of pity award) and I feel they have one of the best scouting teams.  They have favorably mentioned Kyler Murray numerous times.  Don't be surprised if he is still available at the start of the second round that they don't offer him "above slot" money.

i'm an astros fan too

This is my take on the Murrays.

There was never a chance that Kyler Murray was coming to Texas. Kevin Murray was simply trying to show Sumblin who was "boss".

I know for a fact that Kevin Murray was run out of Allen football practices several years. I think he is and will continue to be a "helicopter" dad.

My initial reaction is too read to much into this and go negative but It's times like these I have to keep in mind these are 18 year old kids that haven't had many tough decisions to make in life. So with that being said, I really hope he he finds happiness with his decision.

Seriously though, if we were cheating fervently this year, there is no way we get 1 out of 10 possible kids on NSD. There is no doubt there is cheating going on at the moment, but pointing fingers is nonsense when both are doing it. Looking at it objectively, look at our class and tell me who we were in our heads over getting to sign a NSD. Murray had a built-in advantage, Mack always stated he wanted to play in the SEC with a program that will have the talent to win and we were on him early. Christian Kirk- we were on early and he was friends with Allen and became friends with Murray. Justin Evans- we had an agreement with his position coach and offered immediate playing time. Lockhart, Dunning, Pryor, etc. are all solid recruits, but not prospects that will have bidding wars over them. SHA, just admit that your source was overly confident and misread the recruitment. Mack flirted with at least 5 programs in the past year and gave them indications that he was seriously interested in them, but once the luster of the visits wore off, he was an Aggie. He is a passionate kid, almost to a fault, but it is a terrible assassination of character to insinuate that his family or himself are the beneficiaries of dirty play when they were polite enough to give your program a chance in the race after outright eliminating them.

Here you go again, making claims against false claims.

1. No one said you were cheating feverishly this year. Only one recruit was mentioned. One.

2. "Their both doing it" is false and just a lame attempt to distract. Besides, most mothers teach their sons that just because your friend does it doesn't make it right. That still holds true.

3. Mack didn't always state he wanted to play in the SEC. That, again, is you making stuff up. When Mack decided on Texas, he was well aware that Texas plays in the Big 12.

4. Mack himself said it wasn't until Chavis bawled like a baby did he decide on aggy. Not only had he thought you didn't have the talent to win (particularly defensively), he had to be assured that you had a defensive coach who could find his jock each morning.

5. I will only admit that I keep finding myself responding to crap that you make up out of thin air. I'm not sure you'd have anything to say to me without making something up.

6. It was two sources, not one.

7. I never said that Mack or his family have done anything wrong. That's you making stuff up again.

Are we done here?

I'm feeling really good after looking back how this last recruiting season ended. Now we just need to have our coaches do there jobs on the practice field.

Speaking of coaches any word on the TE/ST. Coach?

Man that's much higher than I expected. I was thinking he would be in the 50-60 range.

Now im gonna ask this to everybody and BE HONEST for goodness sakes..What Grade will you give Charlie Strong?? on this years recruiting class???
Right now I would give the class an A, but the there are still factors which could lower or raise that grade.

1. If we lose some recruits to grades then it's a lower grade.

2. If a grad transfer QB becomes available who can start and play well at QB next year, the grade goes up.

3. If either Locksley or Merritt become great UT QBs then this class should be an A+

This may be UT's best recruiting class since YV's 2002 class.
