Nahlin brought up the name of Jemal Singleton (Arkansas) as a potential new RB coach

Supposed to be a good recruiter.  Prev worked at Okie St

Yeah, burton said the same thing. Wouldn't it be funny if Whaley, who 247 said was a lock to Texas until he heard rumblings that our rb coach was leaving, loses his rb coach at Arkansas?

A lot of folks forget that in his freshman year, Johnnie Johnson was a RB and actually averaged 9 YPC. The next year, Coach Royal asked him if he wanted to be a safety since a new kid came in at RB named Earl.

Speaking of that, here is some OB on same, if you havent already seen it --

" .....  From what I have been told, the biggest turnoff by players who were pursued by Texas A&M and Texas was Kevin Sumlin’s negativity whenever he spoke about the Longhorns.  Sumlin and his staff constantly took jabs at Strong and Texas, which did not go over well with many parents.  Instead of selling his program, Sumlin spent more time ripping down Texas.  In fact, I was told one parent laid down the law with Sumlin and said, “I am tired of you talking about Texas. What can you tell me about Texas A&M?â€

Funny hambone would have you think it was the other way around.  Strong already said in the signing day conference he doesnt talk about other schools.  This is why I hope stumblin stays another 10 years, he is our best recruiter.

We will have to supplement players from OOS until we become an elite program again.

I would like Texas to trend away from that though eventually.
