Ash was a damned good QB. He just happened to be a casualty of injuries. To lump him in with Swoopes and Case is a dis service and shows lack of FB knowlege

 He had one good season where he threw for 2700 yards, 19 tds for 8 ints... he was a good kid and that’s great but to call a kid that had one decent season for us “a damned good qb” is a reach. He wasn’t consistent or reliable at all... to say otherwise shows a real lack of FB knowledge. If that’s what you’re calling a “damn good qb” then I guess your expectations are a bit lower than mine.

I think the receiver play does have something to do the level of QB play. And I also think the opposite is true as well. Improve the play at either position and the other position would also be better.

Ash was a tough kid, but accuracy was only so-so. Didn't look off the safety the way a seasoned QB will. He had potential, but never really had the chance to develop it. Not his fault.

I dont know.  Seems to me he prefers the ags but if they cant take him then maybe us?  Otherwise whats the holdup.

It’s hard for me to imagine anyone criticizing Ash. We saw him play as a Freshman. After that, he split time with McCoy and changed offensive systems. Then, when he looked really good, Dom went down, and Major, the guy who just hired little Briles, used him as a battering ram. 

Give me a break!

Hahaha none of that rebuts my actual point which is that we have had a lack of quality and unreliable play at qb for a pretty good amount of time now...

I agree. But still lends to inconsistency at the position.

I never felt comfortable enough to flip my pick even with Texas making a late run on him. They tried to get him to string it out.
