I know that I have missed this somewhere. But has anyone publicly heard Saban say he is not coming to Texas? Has anyone heard The University Of Texas say publicly they are not trying to hire Saban. I am going to set back and enjoy the ride during the search for a new coach. Whom ever Texas get I know will they will be Texas good. You insiders keep up the good job you are doing. Texas 30 Baylor 20 My friends y'all have a great weekend.

Jim,

Don't think so but the last 48 hrs have been an emotional roller coaster to those who are ready for a change and excited about the potential of Saban. I am thankful for what Mack gave us but I do feel he has had his chance to reboot this program and it just hasn't happened. We have a lot to lose if we are complacent with him. Recruiting is hurting and the rival coaches will continue to use Mack against Texas. The program is stale and needs a new direction.

Nothing official, but it's being reported that Saban signed an extension. All of this is just conjecture until the papers are signed, sealed and delivered.

Well, Saban's on Gameday today. It's his chance to announce it, or not. We should pay attention to how (menaing the nuances) he responds to the (obvious) question.

I kind of doubt the question is even brought up today on the show.

Just give up, all the "insiders" have been fooled/fooling everyone.

"Insiders" do well with stuff like recruiting where information isn't so sensitive and people who follow the program closely have an opportunity to feel as if they are involved with the program. On this coaching change, all the "insiders" have been doing is passing along gossip and charging peoiple for the ability to read it. Our football team is going to be a piece of sh!t until Mack leaves (get used to being two touchdown underdogs to the likes of Baylor). Patterson isn't going to bring the changes we hoped for. Hell, I don't even think he will do anything about Rick Barnes.

I forget who said it, but they are right - we aren't the Jonses, we are the Clampetts.

GARCH I am one who thinks that the insiders provide good information but like anything in life you don't get it right all the time. Before you give up on the insiders let's see how this plays out. My friends y'all have a great weekend.

Your posts discussing the need for one person to be in charge; the need for a clear process given the importance of this hire; etc. are looking more and more relevant....

You know we need a new coach when aggie fans are hoping we keep Mack. The longer he stays the worse we get the better their recruiting is. Come on Horns let's go skin a bear!!
