Curiously, is this gauged by our interest in them or their interest in us? I would think our administration would have Briles pegged higher on the board than Strong due to his Texas recruiting connections.

How does anyone expect the fans to forget about Briles' petty stunt in 2008, voting us 5th to knock us out of the MNC championship game? He fu@ks us over and now we are supposed to embrace him simply because he agreed to let us throw money at him? I don't think it works that way. As soon as he hits a rough patch, he allegiance to anything but the almighty dollar is going to be seriously questioned. I'm not seeing how Briles isn't in the same category as Barry Switzer.

Honestly Strong really doesn't have much of a sample size as it relates to good competition. At least Mack was bucking heads with FSU every year for a conference championship

I would hope our administration would be hiring the best candidate, regardless of questionable "issues" like this. I was pissed at him when he did it, but ultimately this is not something that should be considered when filling a vacancy this large besides a passing question/comment regarding it during the interview.

I'd rather have Fisher than Strong - but hopefully Saban works out and it doesn't matter.

I really wish that we'd bring all our resources to bear if Saban doesn't work out an go after another Huge hire. Strong is not a grand slam type of hire.

Well, the fact that yet another source has him at 1, and considering how friggin high up that source is - I am stoked.

I just hope he stays at number 1. A fallback of Fisher at 2 was still exciting, a fallback to Strong, not so much.

What is so great about Strong? Really, I just don't get it. If we want a black coach because its time, surely we can do a lot better than him. What has he proven other than he can't win the big one with someone else's good recruits? Someone please enlighten me why Franklin or Strong are even on the list, other than some feel a need to break the color barrier at this point?
