I don't subscribe to any pay sites and haven't since 2002. The internet makes it seem pointless, but that is JMHO.

I frequent Barking Carnival and have since its inception. Scipio Tex is one of the premier writers on the internet and entertaining, as well. The format there is quite different from hornsports and some serious football discussions take place, complete with X's and O's.

I also love this site. The people on here are terrific, the information seems very good (I hope. I hope.), and I recognize many of the names from the 360 days - names that I haven't seen in years. It is somewhat reminiscent of a class reunion (minus the old boyfriends). And yes, I'm a woman!

I have noticed that there are many new names on the Texas sites that I watch. IMO, this is a good thing. I want our next coach to be the best out there, and I don't think that will happen if the internet is continuously wild with rumors and knee-jerk reactions.

Go get 'em, Patterson.

McPhaul You are certainly a class act. Several months ago Jason all but called me a lier in a private email. Why? Because I suggested that Bellmont was using carrots in cahoots with Orangeblood to control the message. Thus Orangebloods was hanging out certain insiders to dry at the bidding of Belmont during the missile crisis. Well here we are @ the present time and Chip all but called Shaunsters a lier right on the board for all to see. Trust me, the tone Jason used against me was unreal too even if it was private. I am sure he is a nice guy as well as is Chip. But there is a way to do everything. They are the big boy on the block. It used to not be that way. Back in the day they needed every single posters money. Now they are so big they do not care any more. They act like any one else who puts out insider info is the enemy. That is exactly what I was suggesting to Jason.

I know that some want to think that their team is the best team and so end up personalizing things. But the thing that I am LEAST interested in is the competition between sites. Everyone should take Mcphauls post to heart.

I agree. I belong to these sites, and others.....I take all of your info with a grain of salt. Just like rumors around the workplace, some are true and others are pure fiction on someone's part. When repeated they take on the listeners viewpoint normally and the same rumor can thus end up looking like 2 rumors of polar opposite views. I also enjoy all of that!!! I like hearing rumors and watching to see if they are true. I do not keep score however. If CB, or McPhaul or Jason or JS has it right, great. If not so what? They all have mostly different contacts who may know more on one subject than another.....or, who may pick up a tidbit based on just being at the right place at the right time. Doesn't mean they will always be right. Kudo's to all.....and keep that rumor mill stoked!

One of the things I like about you, McPhaul, is you are upfront with who your sources are - even if it's from an opposing blog. What I liked about this blog is that posters appear to be grownups and don't get their feelings hurt if someone opposes their opinions. At least most of them.

I may not agree with you all the time, but you have been a gentleman when I haven't. That goes a long way with me.
