Before we hit Charlie Strong's press conference late this morning (11AM) and officially move into BYU week, be sure you get your fill on the season opener...

With Week 1 in the books, tell us what you liked & didn't like from our North Texas coverage? We want to deliver things that you will read & discuss this season, so let us know what you'd like done differently...

Color me a "meat on the bone" kinda guy.   I'd like to see more depth, more anaylsis and would love to have a real football guy (former coach or player). . .ala Coach Culpepper at IT offer their insights. . .

Also (slight tangent). . I still think a weekly summary of HS football action . .how the races are shaping up would be a HUGE HUGE draw here. . .

Let's move on to BYU - using impessions of the UNT as a guideline.

1.  We handled UNT as a superior team should have.  You may think "Ho-hum", but did you watch Navy vs. Ohio State, Bama vs, WVU or FSU vs. OSU?  Three heavy, heavy favorites got the bejesus scared out of them.  Texas took care of business and there was no doubt about the outcome.

2.  There is much teeth gnashing and hand wringing over our offense.  Not to worry, this is what we do - grind it out and grind it out we did.  We won't be flashy this year, but we have a few surproses yet.  Ash, is a pedestrian QB and not a Heisman contender - that is all he ever has been and that is alright.  I saw an example of what Foreman can do and Daje will be back.  Our running backs are exceptional  and they will force our opponents to play heavy rush defense which is what our passing game wants.  We won't be the atypical Big 12 spread offense, but we won't need to be.  We are going to be just fine.

3.  Our defense is the showcase of this team.  It will be exceptional.  Hell, it IS exceptional.  Yeah, I know one game is a tiny sample - but, no, it isn't.  It is legit and it will make a few more games very boring.  That is if you like high scoring games.  I've said it before and I will say it again - our defense sucked the very life out of UNT and they won't be the last one either.

4.  BYU will not score a TD on offense.

5.  24 - 9  Texas

EDIT:  JUST FOUND OUT ASH WILL NOT PLAY THIS WEEKEND.  sCORE - 13-9 tEXAS

I was surprised when you didn't join in on the 'Instanalysis' discussion.

Great input about a former player/coach adding insight. It so happens that we just added one...

We're building a HS report. That's definitely something we plan to deliver.

Thanks for the input.
