Look at the division leaders and how bunched up they are....I don't recall anything like this in recent memory. All tolled there are 9-10 teams with .020 of each other!

AL East

Baltimore 52-42

AL Central

Detroit 53-38

AL West

Oakland 59-36

NL East

Washington 51-42

Atlanta 52-43

NL Central

Milwaukee 53-43

St. Louis 52-44

Cincinnati 51-44

NL West

LA Dodger 54-43

San Francisco 52-43

As an Astros fan, my bar is set pretty low. First time we've been at the All-Star break out of the cellar since I don't know when.

Hey, it's a start. Baby steps.

2nd half will have some good battles between the teams.....very close right now.

Lets hear it for my Pittsburgh Pirates! Coming on strong after a slow start.

Not sure what to make of it but the sport with the most parity is the one without a salary cap.
MLB does have the luxury tax concept in place though I believe. I seem to recall the Yanks paying an enormous fee due to their high payroll a few years ago. Anyone in the know here?
