Meet the New Coaching Staff (I think)

You'd think after the coaching search fiasco Hornsports would have learned not to jump the gun.

Thanks for the write up. We all understand it is still fluid and subject to change.

Yes. Why, is that a crazy statement?
When someone puts in the time to write an informative article introducing the likely coaches, a statement like that just seems like a crap on a post type of statement. I don't feel like this is anywhere close to the "Merry Christmas, Saban" post, etc. This is just giving you all information on the coaches being reported by most sites out there. It is not a report by Hornsports that these are the guys, period.

Given the severe lack of credibility "most sites" have had in the last month or so, I think it's premature and would be better reporting practice to wait until there is something more concrete. That's all.

That being said, it's a good writeup and I appreciate the effort put into it. I suppose I just didn't realize such a comment was out of line considering the circumstances.

I didn't say it was out of line. I just don't agree with it.

By the way. The AAS has a video posted that was recorded (Ced Golden & Brian Davis) within the last couple of days with just about the same information, so this is by no means jumping the gun.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I watched the video and they only discuss the things that have been confirmed, and none of the question marks which I was referring to being jumping the gun. Those being (a) Koenning being hired; ( B) Chambers retaining an on-the-field coaching position; © Watson being a coordinator; (d) Wickline being a coordinator.

It looks like waiting until 5pm today would have been long enough to ensure the accuracy of the article. Why not just wait until then?

EDIT: ESPN just reported Koenning hire, so I'll concede that one is now, as of very recently, as close to official as possible before 5pm.
