McPhaul-hearing Morris to Texas isn't dead yet

It's probably time to quit blaming Mack for everything that happens to the program that people don't agree with. It's not realistic.
Thank you for posting this! Mack is gone, any and all things that happen to UT from the day the Coach Strong was hired, both good and bad, should be to the credit of AD Patterson, Coach Strong and his staff.

If its watson then this whole thing was bs and it was him from the beginning. .not a good way to start your career as head coach by lying about who and what u wanted..makes it seem like he settled or this was the plan all along..
Really? Lying? You do realize that he (Strong) hasn't said squat on names that he is looking at. That has been reported by sources, not announced.

Now I get the argument on settling, but sometimes when you go for the big name coordinators they are more concerned about their next job being an HC gig. Sometimes moving on can be a risk they are not willing to take.

Lying, that is funny.

He's said he was looking at several guys and wanted Texas ties. I just don't buy into this being a fake search and predetermined. This is a new regime

I don't think it will be Watson. Not as the sole OC anyway. I'm holding out hope that CS has shielded his search and there is a surprise coming that fits better than Watson.

TEXAS over the past 16 years:

1. One National Championship

2. One Undefeated Season

3. 3-1 in BCS bowls since January 2005

4. SEVEN top 10 finishes

5. 9-4 in bowl games

6. Heisman trophy

7. 10-4 against aggy (who had FOUR head coaches over this time period)

8. 2 outright Big 12 titles, several other south titles, other co-south titles

ABOVE all of that, TEXAS is the 3rd winningest program in NCAA. TEXAS has more bowl appearances than any other team. TEXAS has FOUR national titles. TEXAS has 28 top 10 finishes. TEXAS is the number one school in terms of athletic budget. TEXAS is the number one school in terms of merchandise sales. TEXAS is worth more than any other college program.

We ain't chopped liver, OP. Anyone who doesn't want to be associated with this is free to make that mistake in life.

Still holding out hope for Henson:

Henson - OC/TE

Watson - co-OC/QB

Wickline - OL

Wyatt - WR

Chambers - RB

The info is on lockdown. Hell OB has one source who still says Herman is in play yet others say no. Which is it? No one knows

LotusHorn from 24/7 says there is one OC still very much in the mix, that isn't named Watson, Shanahan or Herman. He won't say who, but after him Shanahan will get the call and if he manages to screw up his interview Watson will get consideration. For those not familiar with LotusHorn, he has been spot on with the Louisville news. Apparently he knows Vance Bedford from his Texas days.

From what I have gathered, I think Watson has already been hired and this is all cover to keep the meltdown from being as bad. I don't think it will work. When Watson is announced, the meltdown will be one of epic proportions.
People on here seem to have an inflated view of their importance. I don't think Strong cares one bit about what people on a message board thinks and he shouldn't. He is working to put the best staff together and there are many criteria other than being a popular choice. The staff needs the right chemistry to work well and that is something no one on here who can intelligently opine on that. In the end it about winning football games. Do that and everything else takes care of itself.

No. Only other thing he posted today was that Dameyune Craig from Auburn was a name that was forgotten. Not sure if he's the guy he's hinting as the un-named OC.

Well I hope lotus horn is right because Watson will be a disappointing hire.

Jim I must have missed any update on how you're feeling. How goes it?
Horn78 thanks for asking my hart is still skipping a beat and the top end of my blood pressure is high. The metrotol I am on really seems to be working and I have to see the Dr again on Wednesday. My friends y'all have a good weekend.

I keep wondering if the Saban hire of Kiffin sends a signal that top programs mean business and are willing to cut ties and hire whatever it takes at the key coordinator positions.

If Texas does not get the best that is out there -- the next guy will. What A&M and Auburn and now OU has done to the Tide, got Saban's attention and he took action. He went after Kiffin right after the SEC season was over. Said he had him in for consultation. I think not. It was to line things up for later, now done.

One would hope the Kiffin hire alters the Texas OC search and escalates the price it's going to take to get the best and not mess around. Everybody now from the Big12 to the SEC is going to go all out to put the scariest offenses on the field. And all crowd pleasers.

The thing I keep seeing/hearing is "Id be ok with _______________ if I knew what the ultimate plan was". I think the lack of information out there is a beautiful thing, and exactly what Patterson and Strong need to be doing. Everyone and their dog knew what was going on under Brown for years. Now no one knows for sure and its killing them.

Keep it up SP/CS.

We've been thinking about you Jim. Sounds like things are looking up.
