Wow he's transferring from USC, and is eligible to play in 2014. Was a 4 star coming out of high school (close to being a five star). Texas should do everything they can to get this guy. Need a backup plan as Swoopes/Heard develop and if Ash isn't healthy.

Also, I checked his rival recruiting offers and he was recruited by Shawn Watson when he was at Nebraska.

That's what I thought, but I remember someone on Twitter saying there was some type of Big 12 restriction even though he's graduating. Maybe they were just wrong.

There is a LOT of confusion about whether Brewer can transfer anywhere he wants. I initially said exact same as you but there is some evidence that this thinking is not correct. As someone in another post pointed out, some think he can transfer anywhere he wants..so long as it's not another school in the the Big 12 conference. Allegedly a special Big 12 rule is applicable.

Bottom line is that we have no idea what is actually true since no one has given a definitive answer and followed that with some solid proof that their version of true.

Three TD's to six picks at USC is a little tough to justify setting Swoopes further back, unless the guy just can't do it. I think he can and he already had his shirt burned for nothing. But that would be good for Heard if Wittek was here, he could redshirt wiithout having to worry about what happened to Tyrone. Mixed blessing, as a lot of options are at this time.
