I told you guys about reading stuff like the Atlantic and whatnot. They feed you garbage. garbage-in, garbage-out. Politifact has had their own issues. If you're going to be in the fact business, you should try to be on the right side of the facts as often as you can. Kinda hard to do that when the real goal is to hate one man every. Single. Day.
I don't read the Atlantic but given what media facts rated them, I would read it.  I don't read opinion pieces because that is spun to fit a certain narrative, right or left; unless I need a good laugh.

I would make a more general statement rather than singling out one side or the other.  Read the articles of your choice and decide for yourself if it make sense.  Search other sources to support what was read.  Does the article cite sources?  Or is it just opinion?  Do the news organizations update their articles based on new information arising?  Do the news organizations retract/correct incorrect statements?

No one website will get it right all the time.

I’m an Astros fan so my opinion doesn’t count here, I’ll give it anyway. Tell them to kiss my foot. Don’t change the name. Every positive thing the Rangers have done for Texas should be afforded the right to celebrate the name. If someone doesn’t like it then they can find a new team.
I'm a Cubs fan so it doesn't matter to me either way.  My opinion of what it should be changed to is the Texas Bluebonnets.  They could have bluebonnets sticking out of their helmets when they come up to bat.

Ok even if I give you he doesn’t plan his own events. He’s the POTUS. He has the power to say, not that date. Kinda how they changed it to Saturday now. It shouldn’t have gotten to the point that it did. If he was aware of the holiday & the history of Black Wall Street, he would have never allowed that to happen. So it kinda puts him in the position of: 1) he doesn’t know about important events in African Americans lives & that’s said because he’s suppose to be the president of all Americans. And he supposedly wants our votes. You cannot expect me to vote for you when you don’t even know what Juneteenth represents. Or 2) he did know and he knew what that would signal. Either way it’s a bad look. It’s way I the whole look what he has done for black people stuff doesn’t fly in the African American community. He does the window dressing to try to show voters in the suburbs he’s not so bad. But he hasn’t done any substantial for our community. He doesn’t know the history of our community or show the want to learn about it. It’s a slap in the face.
He did say. He moved the date. Pretty much a non-issue, IMO.

Just prepare yourselves, there will be changes and not everyone will be on board with them, regardless of who/what the perceived benefits are. Some faction will not be happy, whether it be students, athletes, alums or fans.

As a former newsman, I can tell you that the Atlantic and others like it violate every basic tenant of journalism. You're not getting news. You're getting activism. As you said, spun to fit a narrative. There is little, if any difference, in an Atlantic opinion piece and what they want to call news.

As a journalist, I understand what to look for, what boxes do they check, that sort of thing. If they're good, then the correction thing only happens once in a blue moon. CNN should run corrections every single day. It has gotten so bad.

You're right about the last sentence. But I can tell you that people who make the calls, if they're truly a journalist, will not run a story unless its right. Most news sources don't care so much about being right these days, unfortunately. Its all about 1) how fast, soon can they run it, and 2) can the subject be used to spread hate about Trump. The latter being the primary determining factor.

It's usually a good solution if every one  walks away unhappy about something in that solution.

Yes, there is an investigation by the DOJ into Antifa's involvement. The funny thing is, if you google this you'll see dozens of liberal website entries claiming "Nothing found in investigation so far" though the investigation is only a few days old. lol

LOL! Did the pile of bricks have a sign saying property of antifa?

You're the one pimping an organization you know little about and apparently aren't interested in knowing. One of us has seen it. One of us has not. You can remain ignorant or develop some sort of will power on your own.

You didn't see any dangerous BLM manifesto. What you did is see Tucker Carlson's 17 minute editorial on BLM on Fox last week. It was so racist that he lost 9 major sponsors including Papa John's and T Mobile that didn't want to associate with his racist views.

Within a short period of time, your posting that racist garbage on this board. So if Tucker is a racist and your bringing over his racist shit then what does that make you.
However, before I can say that Sir Hornsalot is a racist then I need an umpire's decision from Aaron. I don't consider it a personal attack just good character judgement.

My hope is that Hornsports can do well and increase their members. However, I do hope that no current UT players or recruits view this board which  could harm the team or recruiting. If Mike Gundy would have worn a Tucker Carlson t shirt the Okie State players would have been just as upset.

Maybe you can start posting on the aggie board as a aggie. I'm sure aggie recruits would love your Tucker Carlson opinions.

Did you even watch the Tucker Carlson show to see for yourself or did you just watch the out of context little blurbs of bullshit posted by the Huffington Post and Stephen Colbert?

It's becoming quite clear that if we don't march in lockstep with your opinion or God forbid criticize BLM we are racists. This attitude is a recipe for disaster.

Call me whatever your little heart wants to call me. I don't care. Your opinion is worth no more than the dirt I just stepped on. You've illustrated your perfectly willing to carry on a conversation days after its got tired and wore out. You're posting though there's really nothing anyone cares to say to you.

Block me if you're so upset about everything. Please, just block me. Or is the whole point here being that you're part of the "Cancel Culture" and are attempting to cancel me?

I invite any sane individual to examine what I've posted. I have nothing to hide.

What Joeywa said. Things are likely changing and they may shake the valley.

Yea that shit gets old and tiresome.  The shutdown phrase.  "You're a racist."  Its because some of them have all the answers and are more righteous then you me and everyone else..  We should all be in awe at their very presence.  I am surprised humanity has endured thousands of years without their guidance.

This should go well.

Aunt Jemima and now this. My world is rocked ??
The Aunt Jemima character was based off of Nancy Green, a woman born into slavery.  She was hired to be the spokesperson for Aunt Jemima Food Products.  Nancy got so popular that the police had to be called for crowd control at an exposition in 1893 where Nancy was serving people pancakes. People loved her friendly disposition - and her cooking.  Nancy left this world a wealthy woman.   Great story!

I’m not sure this decision was necessary, but Quaker can do whatever they want.

Real racism is almost non-existent in my children’s generation (Gen Z and 1 Millennial).  It has decreased with each generation. Now it’s to the point where Acho and McConaughey are discussing - you are a part of the problem if you use expressions or hypothesize ethnicity on a resume.  1) okay 2) this represents progress.

Where racism exists - it should be discussed.  But weaponizing race for politics (which is much of what we see today) is contemptuous and racist in and of itself.

There is so much to discuss.  There is so much talk about BLM and rightfully so.  What about Black Baby Lives?  Do they matter?  These leftists are so quick to burn buildings and throw bricks at cops and call white people racists for not agreeing with BLM's demands then the silence speaks volumes when it comes to abortion.  The hypocrisy discredits them

Another example is someone else brought up homosexuals and the climate change.  They conveniently say I believe in the science when it comes to COVID and climate change but ignore science when it comes genetics.  Now there is some sort broad spectrum gray area when it comes to sex.  They cherry pick what they want to fit the narrative.

The shut downs are intended to hurt the economy. The riots are to cause unrest.  The goal is to beat Trump.  Hell I am beginning to wonder if COVID was released by China on purpose to get The tariff king out of office but that's another conversation but the timing is oh so convenient.  Biden will sell out this country to China just like Globalists want.

This is a little off topic, but I was in HEB this morning, wearing my mask, which happens to be a representation of the flag. Someone came up to me and said, "I like your mask but are you you sure that's wise these days?" I couldn't help but shake my head. People are now fearful of what other people think, may say or do. Even in Fredericksburg.
