Manning vs. Sayin...Thoughts?

With all the prognostications being thrown around, the thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that Arch is in his third season in Sark's offense while Sayin is in his second season with a new OC. That seems very significant to me. In addition, Arch has two starts which, while not against high caliber opposition, exposed areas for improvement which he's been working on. Sayin doesn't have that benefit, either. I have a feeling PK is going to be bringing heat whenever possible to overwhelm the inexperienced QB. Thoughts?

Agree for the most part. Our front 7 is formidable and should be able to generate pressure. They'll havve to keep a TE in to block, probably use that in some sort of TE screen thing. Backs will have to block, too.

Sayin could get rattled by the big stage and the big pressure. Arch, IMO, is seasoned enough to handle it.

I hope the team is taking on an "us against the world" attitude, being on the road.

Arch has been taught poise since he was a little tyke.

Arch also took snaps in big games. At A&M and vs Ohio State last year. He definitely has the edge in experience.

I think OSU will try to establish a run game early with passes every now an then. I expect to see some draws and screens early. If their O-Line shows it can handle the rush, they will open it up a bit.

Both good QBs with potential. Get pressure on Sayin all day. Force some TOs. Get in his head!

I think it will help a lot that we have coaching continuity which allows the players to just play instead of second guessing their responsibilities. With Hartline being a first time OC, I wonder if they are keeping the same offensive concepts that they had when they had Chip Kelly. Same goes for the defense with Patricia taking over.

Hartline will probably mix it up and use concepts from the two OC's he coached under. Patricia has the advantage of playing Jim Knowles coached players even though the depth is light.

Arch is the only QB that Chuck Norris cannot beat out!!

Patricia is good, but he's no Knowles.
