Malik Jefferson and What May Be Going On With Him?

With all the discussion about what's going on with Malik after he got benched last week and with speculation that he won't be starting this week against Baylor I remember something from a couple of years ago. 

Back during Malik's recruitment in early December, 2014, an "acquaintance" and I exchanged a few emails regarding Malik. Unfortunately I don't still have these emails but I do remember one very interesting email from him.

In one of his emails, this "acquaintance", shared with me that Malik had some type of injury that very few people were aware of and he made it sound like that it might be serious enough that Malik would eventually have to give up football. As I remember, he did not say anything about the nature of this injury.

Now I don't have a clue about whether or not he really knew something about this but it's interesting none the less.

If that's true, I can't help but wonder if that's related to why he missed 3 games in a row last year with a 'stomach illness' (or at least that's what I remember the explanation was at the time).
