Major

I do not recall seeing Mack Brown without a headset on, .. . . ..

My point is that it was frequently impossible for him to "meddle" as much as claimed. ..that you didn't notice it. . .. .largely irrelevant. .

As I opined all year. ..the scheme lacked creativity. . .why the OU game wasn't the blueprint for the rest of the season is beyond me. . .

The OU game was not overly creative, in fact it was the simplicity in the game plan that was the reason for success. Texas brought out the hammer and just smashed a very injured, undersized, and over confident OU defense. Major tried to emulate that game plan a few times, however he did not do well when the defense adjusted to the Texas running power right, lead left, wheel route on third down..

Said he is not sure what he is going to be doing still weighing all his options. Did say he thought Coach Strong was a great hire for Texas and thinks he will do very well. He was frustrated with Mack for changing play calls and undermining what he was trying to do.
Why would you post an unsubstantiated, undocumented claim?

I call BS

my points were that he wore a headset and was not "meddling" if he changed plays.

Not so sure. I know Bevo and he isn't one to just spout nonsense.
I dunno.

Just a post without a source, and ya kinda know that would be an eye brow raiser, then just to post and bolt.

It could be, I just doubt Major would throw Mack under the bus.

Putting aside the issue of how much Mack meddled (he certainly did...this is an old topic), please remember that the decision to lift Swoopes' shirt WAS Major's. Mack asked him if he was sure and then let him do it. I don't object to burning the shirt; its the lack of PT in subsequent games (except the Alamo) that was simply inexplicable. THIS is where the controversy exists because there were many reports (again, this has been beaten to death) that Mack thought that Case gave us "the best chance to win" so would not allow Swoopes to play even when the game was well in hand, or well out of hand (OSU).

The Baylor game was just about the worst offensive game plan and use of talent that I've ever seen at any level. On the other hand the OU game was surprisingly good. Go figure.

This thread sums up why Major should get as far from this area as possible. Too much "history" right now.
