my concern is almost that the more of these 'crazy rumors" surface, actually the less likely they're to have any validity. I'm still very much hoping for Saban, but I hesitate to get more than cautiously hopeful. Wish I could go with more than this, but it is what it is.

SG--by the way, though you haven't substantiated anything on this (ie where you heard it, if it's just something you got from another board, etc), but I'm not meaning you're automatically floating garbage out there. When I say "wild rumors" above, I'm referring to the text Bobby Burton cited, along with several other things that one hears on the boards at this time.

For the sake of continuing this conversation from Santa Gertrudis, here's a few comments he made on the same thread posted on another board:

One poster says Major won't have the option to stay at Texas next year:

"You don't know that and neither does he."

Another poster says he can't see Major as the OC here, but possibly the RB coach with Porter's departure:

"Major understands that he would likely have to take a lower profile job on the staff and is willing to do so to stay in Austin."

Major did work for Saban at Bama.

Saban was just interviewed pre-game in New Orleans and he didn't look directly at the camera or the interviewer. I think it's clear that he is coming to Texas.
