He said something similar back at the time, I believe the quote back in 1998 was something along the lines of...."well, things are going so perfectly its almost ashame we have to play a game".

That says it all about Mack's mindset.

Could be taken either way, but he said something to the affect as he was trying to wrap up, "People are more excited about the person coming in than the person leaving..." I took it as a shot due to his less upbeat tone and body language that seemed to point that he was wanting off the mic.

The part of the presser that bothered me the most and was at the same time most telling was his diatribe espousing that reporters need to report the truth in America.

How convenient. You limit access to and control all outgoing information and then you get to tell 'America' what the truth is.

I believe hornsports et al left a mark.
