Mack furor....

One would need to be a blithering idiot to see that and fail to recognize that Mack had every intention of causing kids to decommit.

These are 17 and 18 yr. old kids. No matter how prefaced, kids heard only one thing. I'm leaving and if you liked me you should visit other schools.

Mack must have a 2" pecker.

He might have also felt that he personally owed them something, since he had maintained with them that he was going nowhere.

I honestly think Mack was just looking out for his recruits and have no significant issue with anything he did/said (that won't change unless something else is released that proves otherwise).

My only problem is with Mack saying he would help kids look at other schools if they were committed to him as a coach and not the school. Mack's big thing throughout his coaching career is that you commit to the school and not the coach. Not a huge fan of the language he used when talking to the recruits, but again I don't think he had any ill intentions towards UT. Wish he would have been a little more adamant about staying committed, but I don't have relationships with the players so I guess I really can't judge.

...much ado about nothing. however, i think that part of our shock and awe, is due to the fact that mack brown, always led us to believe that he was so very media savvy vs articulate. how could he make such a profound and yet ambiguous statement to any prospective recruits, immediately after resigning. quite a mystery...

Instead of being concerned about the size of men's penises, you should actually read what Mack said. If you came to Texas because of me, not if you like me you should take a look around.

Kid's commit to a coach, not to a school, in spite of you the NCAA and looks like you think. I don't see how the father didn't completely clarify what happened.

How can any of you people be so blinded that you will not listen to the ESPN report and read the transcript of what John Bonney's father said, in an attempt to clear up the misconceptions, rather than make crude or smartass remarks? . What John Bonney said in his interview was taken out of context.

It is just crazy how people jump to a conclusion based on one bit of information (taken out of context) and then close their minds to any farther inputs on the subject.

Read Chip Brown's story today. All about Mack, all the time. Definitely not much ado about nothing.

You noticed where John Bonney signed with don't you -- The University of Texas.

I guess Mack's comments were taken in context and not like they were portrayed by some of the mistaken.

Mack still did not need to say that statement.......mind control is what Mack is good at. And again Mack did not need to say that statement

So glad his sorry ass is gone. Hope he doesn't come back.
Yeah, it sure was pitiful and sorry to have the second most winning coach in our schools history, and to be consistently in the hunt for a NC most of the years he was here. Of course for nearly 25 years before Mack came we didn't come close to even sniffing a NC, let alone winning one but fans that never knew anything but the good times under Mack, and those others that have a poor memory, would not know any of that.

It was time for Mack to go but I sure as hell am not going to try to rewrite history or degrade any of the fine things that he did for us during his tenure.

i've read chip brown's take (you know...when you could still log on to OB) the kid's take and the parent's take and it appears to me if you don't like mack it can be spun negatively and if you do like mack or are neutral it's a fairly benign remark.

either way, it's spilled milk and the kid all the furor was over signed with Texas.

Moving on.

So we didn't sniff a National Title under Akers? Ok. You can love Mack Brown. There are a few others who still don't get it. I'm just glad his petulant, thin skinned, OU blowout, 2 conference title butt is gone.

The last one I saw under Fred Akers was in 1983. Did you see something else? 1983 was a long time before we sniffed another one that is for sure. And during that drought we would have died to have a coach as good as Mack Brown. Be thankful for the good years Mack gave us and lets move on now.

Was that before or after the visits to Auburn and Baylor?

You would have much better argument with Heard than Bonney.
