Mack Brown's final press conference

Man I had forgot about that. Hilarious

Many of us do, hornag, but there are many loyal Texas fans that feel he has been wronged. They, as much as Mack, should see him treated with respect.
We've allowed him to collect $5 million paychecks while he give us 7-5/8-4 results the last 5 years.

How exactly has Mack been wronged?

If anything we've treated him like a king!

He could go nuclear.
16 years of mediocrity plus regular blowout losses to Oklahoma and others already constitutes nuclear bombing, especially when he was collecting millions doing that (albeit with inside help).

uh, let's not go there. Just imagine mack at the podium in that gif and let the rest go.

I understand what you guys are saying. I am not one of the pro-Mack crowd but I think he must have thought the last time he was going to keep his job. This time he should go gracefully.

Guys I deleted some posts on this thread. Let's keep things on topic and refrain from turning this into a political debate. That's not why we are here.

Thanks!

Embrey,

I am truly sorry that I am not a better person, but the best that I can manage for Mack is indifference. He burned all of the other cards with his juvenile behavior.

The issue for me is very simple. Each day in this country people who are good at their jobs and who work hard to support their families and send their kids to college, lose their jobs. Many, many people lost their jobs over a ten to twelve year period beginning in approximately 2000. Those people hadn't been banking $5,000,000.00/year, and when they lost that paycheck, they lost homes, everything, and to put it simply, they had no voice, no press conferences. Many of them will never recover financially.

Witness Mack. He is walking away a very rich man, and he gets to throw temper tantrums to top it off. If anyone cost Mack his dignity, it was Mack. Sally must be humiliated.

it'll be mack being mack at a presser. 'this week isn't about me, it's about the kids'...'want to send the seniors out with a win'...'I don't pay any attention to all the noise'...'Oregon was #2 in the country a few weeks ago. it's a tremendous challenge for us'...'city of SA is awesome. gonna be a great environment at the game'....and so on.

Mack's W-L record in pressers is pretty good. I like his chances sunday to cover.

Java,

I never liked the guy as HC. I just want the backers and those who don't support him to come together around the next coach. And trust me, i do not think I am the better person. I want him to be allowed to leave with class. The key word in that sentence is LRAVE.

Allow Mack to leave with class?

A head coach who selfishly places greater priority on his own interests and protecting his legacy while sacrificing the interests of the University, its alumni, players and supporters? Over the last 4 years Mack has been paid $21M, ranking him as one of the highest paid coaches in Div-1 to deliver a top tier program, instead delivered repeated mediocrity for the past 4 years, with no full recovery in sight.

By his own doing, Mack has left the program in a ditch, weakened at many key staff and player positions, and weakened in its future recruiting classes. In the last 4 years, his Coordinators (DC Muschamp and OC Harsin) left in disgust, and a 3rd Coordinator (DC Diaz), Mack was forced to fire. Mack leaves behind a team plump with entitlement, lacking in accountability, country club soft, mired in culture rot, and no QB. Whose fault is that? During that time Mack said he could not trust his coaches or his players. Who was responsible for selecting them, shaping them and leading them? Dodds allowed Mack carte blanche to do whatever he wanted, no outside interference. So whose fault was it?

It will require the best coach the University can find to repair the damage and change the culture, except that Mack wants to scuttle the better choices for his replacement. How long it requires for that new head coach to return Texas to a top 5 team again remains to be seen.

So, how does Mack leave with class?
