Other than praying for loud fans, a bailout from the defense, and more than his fair share of lucky breaks, what else can Mack Brown do to prepare the team for a tough opponent.
He was still smiling when talking to players in the final minutes of the West Virginia game (trailing by 3). I have never seen big school coaches do it in similar situations. Spurrier, Stoops, Meyer, Miles, Gundy, ... none of them. Saban was noticeably upset when LSU drove within Alabama's 10 yard line, even when his defense managed to cause a fumble.
Any wonder Mack Brown gets blown out by OU every 3 years?
