In 1970, Texas beat Arkansas in Austin 42-7, that was the year after the barn burner in Fayetteville where Texas won 15-14. All the talk was how the Hogs were going to get payback and this time Texas blew them out. Unfortunately, I was in the on-campus infirmary with mononucleosis, so I had to watch the game on TV. My roommate in the infirmary was further along in his recovery than I was, and he woke me up every morning playing the banjo. It took me a couple of days before I realized that I was not hallucinating from the effects of the mono - the dreams with mono were definitely hallucinatory. I would wake up and tell him that in my delirium, I had a nightmare that he woke up playing the banjo. He then had to convince me that he actually did have a banjo in the room by playing it again. I gotta tell you that the next time was as bad as the first, nightmare wise, for more than a couple of days in a row. Talk about getting a new realization about the meaning of "deja vu all over again!"
Looking back on the records of that series is enlightening - Texas leads 56-21. But then, again, Texas leads the Agnoids 76-37-5.
