This came out of nowhere. It has to be a big adjustment to go from Burton to Austin but this is a loss to me because he's the type of guy Strong has turned into a monster player.

With our luck with small school players, its probably a good thing. Burton is a hole in the wall. None of our small school guys have panned out lately. Kid from Cayuga, Swoopes, kid from Giddings, etc, etc..

You might be right, I just haven't seen a kid do that on a visit weekend. Could it have been from the coaches end? This is speculation but maybe they asked him about gray shirting to allow for more room?

Lots of chatter about this; everything from grades to grayshirt to concern about the kid from other HS coaches.  The timing of this is really odd, especially if he was indeed on his official this weekend in Austin, and his twitter chatter recently has been big time pumping up the Horns.  Very odd.

Decommitting on a visit tells me something went down. He was rumored to have grade issues, so I'm betting he was offered a grey shirt or to look somewhere else.

Just look at Louis Brown's twitter. He was all Texas and excited about his visit. Something definitely went down before or on the visit (most likely qualification issues IMO).

Brown is not at a position of surplus IMO

He's a versatile guy, plays multiple sports

At 6'5 (some list him at 6'6), he would fill out and ultimately destined for DE

But, before then he could have played all over - OLB/Fox

That's nice but if he can't qualify none of that matters.

His prior tweeting indicated his grades/scores were done

But I suppose that could just as easily be read as "I am finished taking my test" not actually "I got my scores and they're good."

On the surface, this doesn't add up.

Baylor Rivals mod hints that there are personal issues .. . Brown maybe hanging with the wrong crowd.
