I think we all agree that Texas QB situation is a mess right now and we need a top notch guy to come in and get these young guys ready to play. But as far as recruiting goes, it's hard to imagine top recruits on offense coming to play for Watson.

I for one would like to know "why" people feel this way? I don't really want him either, my reasoning is because of preference. I prefer the spread, it's more user friendly, it's fun to watch. In college I played in a multiple O. It's basically meshing the two together, I actually think that this style is most fitting for Texas. Look it's not about running the same offense that Baylor runs, you don't do that just for the sake of recruiting. Yes Texas HS fb is basically an ath at qb and four wide, but these kids want to go to the pros, so if Texas is winning and scoring enough they will come. As I posted earlier just because an OC plays one style at one place does not mean that they don't understand the concepts of another style. Zone, power, G, lead, counter style blocking can be done from under center and gun/pistol formations. These blocking schemes are those that Watson used at Louisville. Another note on recruiting, look I guess I can understand the fear there, but he can say that I was the QB coach for Teddy Frickin Bridewater, you know the guy who is going to be drafted top 5, probably first in the NFL draft.

That said I would like Texas to go w someone else...I just would not flip if he came to Austin. Ultimately it's about trusting that your coach knows his plan and what he would like to execute on either side of the football.

was Louisville 23 -3 the last two seasons, with a huge win over florida last year. Nobody heard of teddy bridgewater till that big win and quess who was his qbs coach and oc coordinator. Shawn Watson

He ran a system that worked in Louisville, doesn't mean he cant change that system to fit in big 12

No offense, but I need better confirmation than that guy. He hasn't been too reliable.

Multiple offense sounds like a good approach. Seems a lot of our problems the last 4 years, instead of transitioning based on our personnel, we jumped right in with the new scheme. GD ... Harsin ... Applewhite. Looking back, Harsin was getting there.

I hope we do not spend the big money on Watson....you know what I mean "Watson"
