Many of us are expecting some ice or snow in the next several days. Here's a tip that I feel is pretty important.

If your driveway gets iced over, apply a bag or two of Lava Sand over the drive instead of applying salt. The after effects of salt are bad. Salt will kill or damage plants, grass, trees, etc., 

Lava sand will actually improve soil.

Once the ice is gone, that salt or sand will end up everywhere so it's best to go with something that serves the purpose but doesn't leave behind death and destruction.
