Alderman – Texas enters into one of the most dangerous games left on their schedule to take the field against KSU in Manhattan. It is true that the Wildcats have had Texas' number and have seemingly been in their head for the past 10 or so years, but the hope of many Longhorn faithful is that the new regime will do away with the history of failure in this matchup. If we look at the matchup on paper, the Longhorns appear to have a edge, especially when they are on offense as the Wildcats struggle to stop the pass (and the Longhorns are a much better throwing team than running). Kansas State is very good at certain aspects of Special Teams, so the Longhorns must focus on forcing fair catches on punts and being smart on Kickoff returns.
I am of the opinion that this game will come down to defense and how well Edmond and the safeties play. Over the course of the season, the defense has been the strength of the team save for their performances against BYU and Iowa State. I think the team gets back to normal this week and plays smart on both sides of the ball. Swoopes will continue to improve and it should open up the rushing attack over the course of the game.

Carrara – In the last 10 games these two teams have played against one other, Texas has beaten Kansas State only 3 times (with only one of these wins coming in Manhattan – 2002). Swoopes is maturing as a QB and moving Taylor Doyle to Center seems to have made a difference in the line play. I really like Texas’ chances tomorrow in the Little Apple because I think this team is hungry and ready to take the next step. Jake Watters and Tyler Lockett are playmakers for the Wildcats, and they will beat you if you aren’t prepared. This means the Texas defense will have to hold ground tomorrow and the Texas coaches cannot let Bill Snyder outcoach them. When it is all said and done the ‘Horns break the string of 3-straight losses in Manhattan that date back to 2006, and beat Kansas State.

Kansas State - 17
Cotcher – Truth be told, Kansas State is precisely the type of team that these Longhorns should struggle to beat. They play fundamental, mistake-free, physical football and while it might not excite many people, on paper it looks like the prescription for Kryptonite if you're Texas. Add to that the fact that KSU teams have a history of improving over the course of the season under Bill Snyder and there is every reason to believe that the Horns struggle mightily.
And struggle, they will....but I've got a feeling. These players are finally believing in themselves and the system and there's no dosage of Kryptonite that cures a disease like confidence. It's gonna be tough. It's gonna be physical. It's gonna be close.

Feeley – This game will be a real challenge for Texas, Kansas State is ranked Number 11 in the country for a reason! Comparing the recent games along with common opponents, Iowa St. and Oklahoma, I'll have give the edge to Kansas St. (even though their wins were close). I'm not sure Texas can score 48 points again this season and they may need it to win!

Flanagan – This game feels like an upset. This might be Mack Brown's players but this isn't a Mack Brown team. They will not take Kansas State likely. Kansas State will not take Texas lightly either. Texas started out slow in the only 11AM game this season. At the end of the day, Kansas State is more disciplined than Texas and I believe they will ultimately come out on top.

Hinton – With the Longhorns coming off a close, exciting win and the Wildcats defeating the Sooners by one on the road, Texas could be walking into the perfect storm in Manhattan this weekend. But, for the first time all season, I predict the Longhorns will play a complete game with all three units finally coming together. Texas leaves Manhattan with its first signature win under Charlie Strong.

KSU 21
Hopkins – Kansas State will be a difficult match up for the Longhorns. Though UT did well against Iowa State, a team that almost defeated Kansas State earlier in the year, they simply aren't at the level of Kansas State. The Longhorns will put up a good fight, but will ultimately lose.

Texas 14
Roach – The Horns face a tough road test against a Kansas State team coming off of a big win in Norman last week. The Wildcats under Bill Snyder are always a tough out and Texas hasn’t won in Manhattan since 2002. Texas fans want to see more of what they saw last week on offense and more of what they saw the previous weeks on defense. This team has still yet to play a complete game in all three phases, and while on the road against K-State may be the unlikely place for it to happen, I believe it will. This will be a back and forth game that might push Texas fans to the edge of insanity before they see their team pull a stunner in the end.
