Joe Jamail and Mack Defiant to the Bitter End

The decision should come before the Alamo Bowl presser tomorrow morning. Otherwise it will be awkward as every other question will be about him stepping down or coaching in his last game.

I also agree, and if he doesn't announce his retirement then it is really going to get ugly..

The staff on this board have said it will happen so just calm down it will happen

So if he steps down before the bowl game, does he still coach the game? If not MB then who? Please help me understand.

I don't think it happens until late tonight or tomorrow. He told a recruit he was meeting with Patterson and powers today after the press conference to discuss the issue.

We need someone that can make a decision and execute it. All of this should have been cleared up on Sunday. Monday latest.

If he gets questions at the presser, he will deflect. However, he will get cooperation from the Alamo Bowl folks for softballs, if at all possible. We will not hear anything official till late this afternoon or tonight about Mack's future.

He won't step down before the press conference in my opinion.
Friday at Banquet is my guess but I'm starting to worry he's going to drag this out. I get the sense he's really digging in and this is all dependent on his mood which seems negative right now according to Chip.

Hard for me to imagine mack passes on the chance to get celebrated at the banquet. Would be impossible to hold the banquet without massive awkwardness otherwise if they pretend it's not the end. I know OB denies but a couple of players have been told

Almost verbatim what he was saying when he left NC to come to Texas

F the both of them. As each day passes, with each report I read, I have less and less respect for Brown. I'm starting to feel the same way about Jamail.

I don't know why the decision is Mack's and I don't know why we have to negotiate a better settlement with him than is in his contract.

HEY MACK. YOU WILL NOT BE MISSED!

I say if he doesn't tell the recruits/players the end of the banquet, Patterson/Powers needs to tell them Sat morning.

If Mack doesnt do it at banquet, thats the end of the line. Patterson should just go straight to LHN and say "Mack will not be HC next year at Texas. He has accepted the $2.75 million. We will begin out search to replace him."
