Its time to fire Strong

wow, i'm not liking what you're saying.  i can't believe they wouldn't let him get his guys into the program; into the leadership positions.
I'm sorry, but I really don't understand this "get his guys into the program" argument.

Does Tom Herman have "his guys" at UH?

Does Jim McElwain have "his guys" at Florida?

Hell, did Bob Stoops have "his guys" when he won a Natty at OU in his 2nd year?

Etc. etc.

UH had an experienced qb.  i don't know anything about their OL.  they are also playing programs that we would be 10-0 so we're not really comparing apples to apples.

there is no leadership in the upperclassman.  there wasn't a proven qb when charlie arrived.  these guys came to UT to say they put on the jersey.  do you really think case mccoy is a d1 qb?  kevin vaccaro?  dylan haines?  these are guys that should be on UH not UT.

you can't make apple pie with doggie do-do.

I've never met Sirhornsalot and I don't know him but his sources/leads tend to be more accurate than most. Though this time I hope he isn't correct.

I'd like Strong to get at least one more year but he can't have anymore loses like Iowa St.

I was hoping someone would catch that. You're right and I was right. He would not be retained elsewhere at UT. And he would not be fired.

I wish I could say more, . . money is the operative word. Lots and lots of it.
Do it...  You're likely attempting to spill third party knowledge or worse.  Spill the beans.

I know a guy who knows a guy who was at an informal meeting with Perrin and DD after the TCU game and well....

He can semantic it up all he wants - but Strong has a guaranteed deal so whether they fire him or they 'convince him to leave' he is getting paid 15 million at least.

I have no idea what the purpose would be of paying Strong to resign - when perception will be that he was fired regardless of how they spin it.  Its going to look terrible - and will come off worse than if they just fired him outright.

If Texas allows Red McCombs to pony up 20 million to get Strong to walk-away, ridding Texas of the first African American Head Coach in its history and a guy Red described as a position coach (going to love that public relations hit), then Texas will have officially lifted its skirt, opened its legs, and whored itself out to any booster willing to pay for a ride.

Your first sentence – correct.

Second sentence – there will be no spin. No spin will be needed.

Third graph – Don't think McCombs has even entered the picture yet. And he likely won't have to. From what I've heard, BMDs from all over have contributed and the figure you posted has already been met.

Again, I don't like this at all. No matter WHAT happens here and that I'm trying to avoid saying will happen – either way it's a two-year stint that reflects poorly on both sides.

I'm passing along what I've heard. It has legs, and I wish it didn't.

Chip Brown is saying that Fenves & Perrin are 100% behind Strong and he will be back in 2016 regardless if he loses the last two.

Chip's problem is he doesn't speak in riddles enough.  He needs to learn how to write/speak a 1000 words without actually saying anything.  That way its easier to always be right - plenty of guys here and elsewhere could give him a lesson on that.

Said aptitude will also make Chip an ideal politician.

He is also often wrong.

It's odd how different it's been seen he joined Scout and there is a lot of info in that article that goes along with what I've been told by people still involved with the program.  Directly!

Thats the point.  Plenty on here and at the pay sites make it impossible for themselves to be wrong - because they don't actually say anything.  1000 words that add up to gibberish.  Vagueries and riddles that sound good but don't actualy say anything.

From Chip

Two sources close to the situation told HornsDigest.com UT president Greg Fenves and interim athletic director Mike Perrin are unequivocal in their support of Charlie Strong coming back in 2016 - even if Texas loses its final two games against Texas Tech and Baylor - because they believe in Strong and feel he didn't receive the support he needed during his first 20 months at Texas.

Im sorry but your argument doesnt fly.  UH beat #21 memphis last weekend with the 3rd string QB in the 4th quarter.  That QB was a WR at the start of the season.  So he wasnt experienced by any stretch.

Yes the teams they have played are not Notre Dame but UH is not loaded with talent either.  Ayers their best WR is a hard nosed over the middle receiver but I doubt he would even start on most Big 12 schools save Kansas.

Herman has done a wonderful job.  You cant argue that.  His team is undefeated.

the powerhouse memphis tigers with big wins over bowling green, missouri state, kansas, tulsa, tulane.  our inexperienced qb beat a #10? ou team, so it does happen.  regardless, the point is that strong doesn't have his players in the leadership positions and should be given that chance.

I understand your point.  All I am saying is its comparable.  UH beat those schools but since when did you ever consider UH to be on the same level as a Top 10 team?  Those schools have less talent but in the end they are playing each other and therefore its pretty equal on the field.

Im pretty sure Baylor or TCU would smack around UH as well.  But I do not believe for one second UH is even remotely equal in talent to UT.

Herman has done a great job against "so so" teams with a "so so" team.   Undefeated his 1st year.  Give the guy credit.

Yes UT beat the shit out of HoeU.  In the 2 years Strong has been here he has outcoached Stoopes.  The best game this year by far and my one moment of pure happiness this entire football season.
