Let me address the McNeal stuff to the best of my ability.

We've been hearing things here and there about Deandre all offseason.  A lot of it we can't get into because it's only what we've heard and not what we can prove.  He was officially suspended for violation of team rules which usually means only a few things.  We've also heard he hasn't been seeing eye to eye with the coaching staff.  I'm checking with folks now to see if he will be back or if he's off the team, but the indefinite term is certainly ominous.

Every time there is reason for optimism it gets shot down.  I'll hold on until it's official, but i've been pessimistic on this one since it began.

1. Nothing official from what I know, but I would think the Big 12 has had some unofficial talks.

2. Nothing that we are aware of.

Couple questions:

1) How confident are you in Lagaryonn Carson making it? I hear all kinds of conflicting stuff to maturity ( which could easily be corrected ) to a grade risk? I know he took summer classes so hopefully he's on the right track and heard he also does good in the class but other reports say he's a grade risk. I really hope this kid makes it in I've seen him play live and he is a terror on the DL.

2) OU backing off Newman? Think he still flips regardless wether it's OU or somewhere else?

I don't know that those discussions ever got far.  I have to imagine it would be pretty difficult to execute.

1) Earlier in the year I was told that people were very concerned about him ever making it to campus.  I was told a few weeks ago that things are way better on that front and Carson is on the right track.  Jeff Traylor is nearly a father figure to him, and I think if he stays on his current track he will be just fine.

2) OU took another interior prospect which seems to be Newman's spot.  It seems like Xavier has backed way off of his stance, and I think he's fine for now.

Nothing really, but he may have lost his shot at Bama. Wouldn't totally surprise me to see Texas be back in the mix.

Board made two requests for the Pepper Hamilton report. Baylor finally agreed to meet and did, with Big 12 officials. Big 12 still received no report.

Word from that was everything was ok. But that could mean anything.

Doc Longhorn apparently has a source on this that he's be trying to hint at in recent posts. I've now heard from a couple folks that all is not right with the Big 12 family.

Now, we have yet another Baylor sexual-related offense in the news . . . .
