....Spring Game, that is! When it's off-season, you've got to treat opportunities like this like a desert oasis.

Big week of coverage planned, but I want to know what y'all are focused on, what you want to read about, what you'll be watching in the game, etc. Is it simply quarterback play, or is there another subject that has your attention since that one's been trodden?

If you haven't been online much for the last few weeks, here are some primers to get you ready for Saturday's game:

Charlie Strong's preview of spring practice

Offensive preview
Defensive preview

Practice report #1

Charlie Strong projects the defense

Practice report #2

Today UT is making a few players available to the media.

Wednesday Charlie Strong will have a press conference.

Thursday Vance Bedford & Shawn Watson will have press conferences.

Saturday there will be game & post-game coverage (like a regular game).

Football is almost here! Lots of recruits will be at the Spring game too.

Ya'll let us know what peaks your interest about Saturday. We will be on the ground and in the press box.

Will the scrimmage be full contact for the QBs, too?

It's important for me to see both Swoopes and Heard run the zone read option under live conditions. Looking forward to seeing the offensive changes in action!

I know this is a controlled scrimmage.  It is not like you or me scrutinizing & analyzing a true game, but here are the top 5 positions / units I will be looking at, in this order:

1. Big # 1: QB - looking at command, calling audibles, improvising, decision making, running the zone read, passing - especially footwork, not locking on receivers, arm strength, etc.

2. WR - Harris and Shipley are gone.  Marcus is back but a lot of new faces in the mix.  What is Daje's role, is he second string?

3. OL - a lot young guys return, how have they improved from last fall.  True freshman Conner Williams.

4. LB - Edwards & Hicks are gone, Santos is injured and out.  Lot's of youth will get to play next fall.  Malik Jefferson.  I cannot wait to see Cecil Cherry in summer camp.

5. DL - What has Brick Haley done with the DL in the short time he has been on staff?

i know in past years, they used some kind of tricked up scoring system. will this be 'real' football scoring ?

JB, I don't think I have seen UT let the QB's have full contact in any spring game I have seen in recent years.  I am pretty sure CS did not allow it last spring.

*sigh*

Yeah, and CFS really shouldn't given our depth chart. It will be difficult to grade their performances without being under fire. But, maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.

I suspect posters on all msg boards will find a way to grade performances. Some will do it without even watching the game.

Better still, some folks have their mind made up before the game happens.
Aw! You went and ruined it for me. I was just about to post my predicted stats for the Spring Game, along with each of the seasons games. After all, I AM an expert talent evaluator! Just for that, I will deny y'all the pleasure...
