I know I know, it doesnt live up to your standards, or the standards you think Texas "deserves."
Not going to argue, because just like yourself at the start of all of this roller coaster, I wanted John H. as a HC with Narduzzi as DC and possibly C. Morris as a OC...that would of been my dream staff. This falls way short of anything close to that, and oh well.
What I do know is this, we have football coaches now. Finally the change many of us have been yearning for, is finally here. I have always said, attitude and or change start at the top. Look at what was in that place 2 months ago, and where we are now. Deloss/Brown compared to Patterson/Strong. HUGE HUGE DIFFERENCE. Dodds and Brown did wonders for this school, and all of us are great full, but a change was needed, and unfortunately for some, that have never experienced it, it hits you like a Mike Tyson uppercut.
The staff is set. The players are starting their offseason workouts. These new coaches are gonna hit the ground running for recruits...want to whine and throw a hissy fit, that's totally your right to do so. But remember what coach strong said..
"Let's not get caught up in the five-stars. Let's not get caught up in
the four-stars. Let's get caught up in the football players,"
That quote to me also fits with the coaching staff..BK said it best, this isnt your red carpet celebrity assistant all star staff, but they are damn good coaches. Let them mesh, give them at least an offseason before we can even judge.
I dont know about you, but this is the first time in 5 years, im finally excited for the start of the season. Whether it works or not, that will be a story written months from now, in the meantime lets enjoy the change of atmosphere and intensity this team, these coaches, and this program will be having.
