You guys laughing at the above comments by Maryland fans need wake the eff up. They did dominate us last year in our own house. To laugh them off and disrespect them AGAIN is pure arrogance. A quarterback named "Piggy" sliced and diced our front seven last year in Austin.

We haven't earned the right to take a team like Maryland lightly. This will be a dogfight in DC.

I completely disagree. We did this same thing last year and we were the ones who got boat raced. This will be a fight. We shall see Saturday at 11 CT on FS1.

Fans often reflect the attitudes and thoughts of their teams. It is laughable to me how liquored up we get every year only to be 6-6 or worse.. We are not in a position to disrespect or look down our noses at opponents.. even lowly Maryland. We suck until we don't.

I haven't seen anyone looking down their nose at Maryland. At least not on this board. What I do see is enthusiasm for the first game of the year and the normal hyperbole that comes with it.

I admit to having great power.....but I learned long ago that what I say  has remarkably little effect on how the games are played.....surprising as that is. I also learned that my arrogance does not necessarily transfer to the teams psyche. Damned if I know why.

That said, we are gonna smoke some Terp ass.

I'm not in the quietly confident crowd. The last four years have made me gun-shy, although I have hope for this year. But I did the last four as well. See the conundrum? Burnt Orange PTSD?

Cautiously optimistic my ass, this is the first game on our march to the national title.
