Unfortunately I was unable to see 'A Football Life', on the 2006 Rose Bowl when it aired.  This weekend I am again out of town, and I did not know that it was to be aired again.  Luckily, I caught the last 30 minutes today.  Watching the final minutes of that game, when we were down, 4th and 5, everyone knew that VY was going to run the ball.  He had taken control of the game, told the line we were going to get the TD, told Mack he had it.  We knew it, and why not, he had done it time and again, because that was Vince.  He was not going to be denied.

Ironically I fear this is exactly what the problem was. . . .

Mack was so intent on finding the next "vince young" .. . . (Chiles, Harris, Swoopes). . . .he failed to get the next TEXAS QB. . . 

Swoopes will have his shot in the spring. . . so will Heard. . . .I doubt there is a one year savior out there so we ride with what we have.

yes and no i'd say. mccoy wasn't the next vince (although he tried for perriloux) and gilbert sure wasn't designed to be the next VY. 

agree on forgetting about the 'one year savior'. heard was the shit when we recruited him and despite the various practice reports and posters claiming he doesn't have it as a true FR, i'm anxious to see what he has.
