Supposedly Strong knocked it out of the park in the interview. Supposedly his desire for the job sent him up the ranks. Now he appears, to me, to be waffling.

He wants to meet with his AD in person?! WTF? Why is he so worried about that? I wonder if it is because he wants to give his AD a chance to match his offer from Texas? After all, that tactic worked for him when he was offered and turned down the other UT just a year ago!

Also, if Texas is one of the top jobs in the country, as we've always heard, then why would someone like Strong not jump at the chance? What if he does stay at Louisville? Do we go to our 12th choice?! Who is left, Franklin?

This is turning out to be a potential nightmare scenario folks. Here we are, pinning our hopes and the prestige of Texas on someone like Strong?!

Wow. Complete clusterphluck.

There is a lot of internet bs going around and i dont know what to believe and not to believe.

Strong was given a HC opportunity after many years for being the second options for many schools. I can understand that CS would want to talk to Jurich in person and tell him "thank you for giving me my first chance and bc of you i have this great opportunity in front of me. I wanted you to be the first person i tell that i am going to Texas."

At least i hope that is the case.

Someone just posted saying that Strong wants to bring his entire staff over with him. If that is true then I could see that as a reason for him to meet face to face with Jurich.

But still, I can't believe we're in this position where we're down to the last two marginally acceptable candidates.

I have no idea what's going on. The only thing I'm confident in is that none of these boards do either. I mean, nothing is more clear than that.

First it was the famous "Merry Christmas" post, then yesterday morning Chip was putting Mora as the frontrunner. Now McPhaul says Strong wants the job so bad that he's willing to wait as a Plan D, and at the same time says all the top candidates have said no. Yet still no comittment from Strong?

I'll wait for the press conference.

he's being a MAN trying to let the prez/AD know face to face. plus he hasn't even told his players yet, meeting is tomorrow I believe. everyone needs to chill out, i know we are an internet society but not everything moves at internet speeds.

Like I said in another thread that got me bashed, something does not pass the smell test with strong.

Yeah guys, stop overreacting. I was urged yesterday to temper my emotions and stop jumping to conclusions. It'll all workout. If Strong leaves us at the alter, I'm sure Patterson has Franklin lined up to step in the slot. Now if Franklin falls through, or takes the Penn State job, guess we'd be back to square one. FWIW

None of us know why there is a delay. Stop knee-jerking and latching onto every post of doom and gloom. Assuming Strong wants to wait to say yes to UT to tell his AD in person, that's a classy thing to do. And, assuming he want to bring some or a bunch of his current coaches with him, even more classy to talk to his AD first -- and I am not advocating for bringing his coaches, just working of the assumption.

I wanted you to be the first person i tell that i am going to Texas.
However, I told Austin's TMZ OrangeBlah Community Gossip Board and their Top Pappi-rah-rah-rah-zzzzi Doggies, and you probably heard it by now.
