SignUp Now!Got a email from someone inside Bellmont. Basically to summarize, we need to let some stuff go until were ready to announce it. How someone inside the 40 got my personal email, makes me Wonder. It's a email very few people have.
Don't worry though were just little old Hornsports. Why care about us? Hmmm
Bravo, excellent post.I can think of a couple of dozen ways the people inside Bellmont could have created goodwill with some of the social media outlets (that don't involve selectively passing along privileged information that shouldn't be made public) that would help build the relationship necessary to foster cooperation with matters such as embargoing sensitive information. Bellmont has conciously chosen not to build such relationships. Instead, they have treated many social media outlets as the enemy and built adversarial relationships. It shouldn't be a surprise the Nick now doesn't have the ability to manage the program's message. Quite plainly, Nick is part of the problem.
Hopefully, Patterson will make the changes to repair and rebuild the program's relationship with social media outlets. Until those changes begin to happen, I don't believe HS or any social media groups have any responsibility to assist Nick in managing the program's message. If I had received the email Shaunsters received from Bellmont, I would have responded that when heads begin to roll and Bellmont quits treating social media as enemies of the program, Bellmont can ask for favors. Until changes happen, nothing has changed. In other words, no to their request.
The program has the most extensive resources in college sports yet has lately demonstrated excellence in exactly zero aspects of managing a college sports entertainment program. If we care about UT sports, we have to do what we can to force necessary changes. Their past ineptitude and incompetence doesn't entitle them to ask we help them with their job until the inept and incompetent are dismissed from their positions. I'd love to know what the response to Bellmont's email was.
That's bc he is a good coach who has other important things to care about right now. He ain't Mack. All this talk about Fisher makes my head hurt...He doesn't seem to care..
Please don't think I'm trying to be snarky, but do you honestly believe Nick Saban is coming to UT - still?I think it's pretty clear some people want this NS news on lockdown
Totally agreeI strongly believe every site should STFU until something happens. If people feel compelled to share confidential info about this, do it by phone or text. Nothing good can come of "done deal" on a public message board until it is announced.
Every coach reacts the same way. Mack made such statements right before taking the Texas job. Please don't think I'm trying to be snarky, but do you honestly believe Nick Saban is coming to UT - still?
To be clear, I once was praying Saban came to the 40, even though I never believed it. What I actually believed came to pass.
That being said, and as a former Saban advocate, I don't want that SOB anywhere near the UT campus - not now. If, in fact, there were behind the scenes shenanigans going on between Saban and a couple of rogue BMD's - that was bad enough. And now that Saban has signed an extension and pronounced his love of Bama and his intent to stay there until the end of his career - how could you ever trust him or admire him for going back on his signature and his word, if he came to Texas.
At the very least, it would prove he has zero integrity and his word means nothing.
If I am a parent of a potential recruit, I would NEVER want my boy to play for him. I don't care how many titles he has won, because he is nothing more than a GD liar and I wouldn't believe a thing he said. But, I digressed because there is no way he is coming to UT, anyway.
Sorry for my rant.
Bc coaches do that all the time. That's the flawed system. If u had a problem with what he said last week, you should have had the same issue when he left MSU, LSU, Miami and a problem with Mack when he left UNC.Please don't think I'm trying to be snarky, but do you honestly believe Nick Saban is coming to UT - still?
